Dark Revelations

i will agree with akunin except on a few things.

Yes Lilith was Adam's First wife but she was seen as a demoness b/c she slept with Sammael (Satan) and spawned many demons a day.

The 7 angels who were sent to watch the 7 women and mated with them did have children (this was also mentioned in the movie Prophecy II. THEY are called Nephilim). They were also outcasted from Heaven.

I know all if the mythology and what not....I'm not basing everything off of that.....most of this is my own views on things...which is why it is not exactly how its dictated in biblical and/or other writings...

Not debating that - the texts point to this, but the point is that we're not debating the nature of Lilith.

The dangers of citing bad Christopher Walken movies in a discussion of religious history. You know better than that, Angelsboi, especially when debating religious history with me ;)

That story was fabricated for the script, and only (very) loosely based on the relevant texts.

1 ENOCH 6
1 And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto
2 them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: 'Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men
3 and beget us children.' And Semjaza, who was their leader, said unto them: 'I fear ye will not
4 indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.' And they all answered him and said: 'Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations
5 not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.' Then swore they all together and bound themselves
6 by mutual imprecations upon it. And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon

The texts go on to describe the fate of these angels. They are never referred to as "fallen" (that term is reserved for Lucifer and his followers, in the event that ocurred long before the creation of man) but rather "sealed away" in the Abyss for their sins.

Jude 6
And angels that kept not their own principality, but left their proper habitation, he hath kept in everlasting bonds under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Likewise what I am doing is fabricating a "story" for a d20 setting loosely based on relevant texts.......

This isn't a discussion on religion either....just a discussion on a "fictional" d20 game....

Also, just out of a nod to authenticity, you might keep in mind that the Seraphim is the highest choir of angels, not the lowest.

Heh ok ok ok you nailed me Akunin. But i swore i read somewhere as well they were sent to hell (or the abyss). Maybe it was what you posted and i misread it.

This is known to me....

The Angelic hierarchy as stated by many writers has been

1st Choir
- Seraphim
- Cherubim
- Thrones

2nd Choir
- Dominations
- Virtues
- Powers

3rd Choir
- Principalities
- Archangels
- Angels

As far as my use of the name Seraphim....I'm not trying to stick exactly with "religious" mythology...I'm writting my own depiction of it

Well, be careful not to twist around commonly known facts (at least commonly known to gamers) too much, since that could lead to some confusion.

It appears to me that you are merely lifting campaign concepts from Vampire, In Nomine, and a couple of other sources that I can't put my finger on at the moment and switching some names around here and there.

This would be great if you were running a homebrew that no one else would ever see, but you are talking about potential publication. I don't think White Wolf, just to name one, would be too happy with that idea.

I've run a similar campaign mixing the very same sources. I did however, not alter the biblical references and nomenclature...maybe it's just the theologian in me.

Don't mean to sound harsh but there is a difference between a great campaign for you and your buddies and one intended for publication, even if it's for free.

True enough.....thats why I'll gladly explain my theories and ideas in order to clear up any confusion..as best as I possibly can...
