D&D 5E Darksun times of change[Oc]closed]

Thanks. Yeah, that was one of the things I found frustrating about 5e is the lack of guidance on knowledge rolls, so I've had to figure out my own system for monster information.
May I ask how you run it? Its been bugging me aswell. I was thinking a 10 gets you basic fluff hinting at an ability with each 5above 10 revealing more.

It isn't exactly codified. It's a bit of this and that pulled from also playing Pathfinder. Basically it's a DC 10+CR level. Anything that's lower than CR1 you can get pretty much everything with a DC 10, and I might even give you most of it on a 5. And give them more for every +5 over the CR. Sometimes it's just gut, sometimes it's just "I want them to know this, but they only got an 8, or a 10" and then I consider how "common" the monster is (like goblins, kobolds, orcs, etc).

Excellent idea KahlessNestor, in fact I'm going to bring back the old 4e knowledge roll to learn interesting :):):):) about monsters!

Baarzag are scavengers of the wastes all though they live together they are selfish except in defense of their warrens. Once a Baarzag latches onto its prey it will never let go.

Question Azurwraith, are they beasts or Monstrosities? Eevuu gets +2 damage vs. monsters. Initiative and stuff coming

So ill go over how I run combat in PbP just so where all on the same page initiative runs in groups, group A is everyone that beat the initiative of the monsters. Then group B goes typically this is the monsters then group C this is everyone else.

I will always run the best outcome for you I.e fairy fire will go first along with hold person etc same with overkill ill just move the attack across.

Sounds like how I do it, although, after round one I found there's no need for a group C. It's pretty much the same thing if you do group A, then the monsters in round one, then add group C in with group A for round two, if you see what I mean. I find that easier, myself. Of course, we'll do it however you like!
