I haven't touched the game myself, but I do fancy its undead race.

Usually this sort of WoW banter is between those who play on PVP (Player vs Player) servers and PVE (Player vs Enviroment) servers also referred to in some circles as Care Bear Servers. On a PvP sever players of opposing factions can attack each other on a whim. On a PVE sever both parties must agree to fight before the two opposing factions of players can attack each other.

Nowadays, almost everyone plays at least some PVP, since the introduction of battlegrounds and world PVP. (Arena PVP is mostly for hardcore PVPers, though.) I'm on Silver Hand, and I get in a little bit of PVP every day, just to slowly grind out Honor Hold faction in between Hellfire Citadel runs. (The gun and tabard will be mine. Oh yes, they will.)

Bah, the tauren murder civilian archeologists intent on digging up Titan relics so as to unlock the clues necessary to stop all life on the planet (other than dwarves) from being wiped out when the Titans return.

Meanwhile, you have the undead working on a plague designed to wipe out all life -- including the rest of the Horde -- Thrall willingly having demon-worshipers in Orgrimmar, trolls practicing cannibalism and torture and the blood elf leader conspiring with the Burning Legion.

You know what I call the 25,461 Horde I've killed? A good start.

EDIT: Oh, and comparing leaders. C'mon, the humans are led by Onyxia, the Gnomes nuked their own city, and the Night Elves have no friends. Dwarves are the only ones I'd say are at least close to good.

In fact, on both sides, I'd really only place the Orcs(demon worshipping is being kept in check/being killed off) and Dwarves as the closest to Good. With the Tauren up there and probably the Draenei.

The Tauren are religious fundementalists who need to practice a bit more tolerance, and the orcs need Truth & Reconciliation Hearings, but I think you're not far off. The gnomes aren't bad, though, just enthusiastic.

I'm ex-Horde, had to give it up to save my sanity/sleep/marriage.

In truth, the real answer is that:

BOTH sides have a significant number of 12-yo leet-speaking idiots.

Both sides have a significant number of decent folk.
