Dave Noonan on WoW

I'm curious what that is, although it's obvious that something's up. Of course, if they aren't explaining why the heck the naga are draining Zangamarsh, they may not explain the big skeleton in the Narrus' closet, either.
The draining of the marsh is to make another Well of Eternity. :)

I dont touch WOW either but my ex-gf did and I thought it kinda sucked upon watching her play it. I have player War Craft 1-3 and the Horde sucks, so does the undead scourge. Alliance all the way.
Orcs stink!

I always felt WoW was at its best in 5-man instances too, which is pretty close to D&D. That actually never occurred to me before.
The big dungeon crawl instances are the ones I like least, ironically. Interesting lore, cool locations and (of course) fun fights are what I really love.

We just went back to Arcatraz last night, and the final fight with the head of the prison releasing some of the most dangerous creatures in the multiverse to attack the group was a lot of fun -- particularly the outraged gnome mage who turns on him. :p

And Blizzard taking raid-style fight and adding them to dungeons (especially Hellfire Ramparts) is a great move. The last fight there is one of my favorite TBC experiences, despite it being the first dungeon in the expansion.

And all of these things are just as applicable to D&D as they are to WoW.

Has that ever been confirmed, or is it just supposition at this point?

And I have two words to all the Orc haters.

Grom Hellscream.

:p
If he had lived, he would have been tried and killed by the orcs of the New Horde. Just because he eventually turned on the Burning Legion doesn't absolve him of being one of the first to help enslave the entire orcish race to demons.

He's a war criminal, plain and simple.

I don't think there's any videogame that looks fun when you're just watching it.

My guild's only early into SSC so haven't seen deep enough to read what Vashj screams out. But it seems to be the most reasonable explanation and the only one I've heard. :p

Oh, come on you KNOW Grom was awesome.

I guess what I love about the Orcs is that they aren't just bad guys like in most things. They're the fallen race trying to redeem themselves. Grom was one of the ones to start turning it around with helping Thrall and pushing him along.

Actually, that can be extended to ALL of Warcraft lore. There aren't really any distinct good guy and bad guy races. There are a ton of evils through all of them, and that's a nice, refreshing change from "ALL ORCS ARE EVIL!" All the races have people that could easily be called war criminals, for one reason or another.

Course, the Undead and the Blood Elves are a bit...off the deep end but it doesn't seem to be all of them, just a large amount. Would explain why I don't like those races, though. :p

I used to watch high-level and tournament replays for Brood War and The Frozen Throne. I found them rather interesting, if not strictly " fun " . Not really any different than sitting on the couch watching a bunch of other guys play hockey or basketball or football or football.
