I'm a bit confused about something.
Chad (I love Adam Baldwin...he was my favorite on Firefly) seems to be in league with the badguys (meeting up with blue-sedan guy at a bar on more than one 'day'), but at the same time he told Hopper where to find the murder book.
Yeah, I guess that he could have been taunting him with the info, but it didn't come across as such.
If I had to guess, Chad knows the guy, and may be a dupe or unwilling helper. Hopper will find out that Chad's helping, and we'll get a terrific confrontation, and then we'll learn the truth.
