DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, Issue #3

Jennifer Allen

"I am fine Eleyna thanks, if I don't keep myself busy I'll start smashing the windows or something. But if someone takes over in an hour that's great, we can keep on driving in shifts to get more ground covered. Sounds like they'll know where to look for us now."
She shuts down the radio after a while, not wanting to hear it any more.
"Will you guys quit whinining? Life ain't fair, didn't you learn that at school. I don't know about any of you but I didn't lift a finger to change anything for the mutants as long as I was still normal, I can't expect people to be any better than that now."
Jenn doesn't sound angry, just tired and very disilusioned as she suddenly realizes that by not being against the system she supported it. And millions are like her, that's the only reason the hunt for mutants can go on like that.

Kyle Graham hp 2/2

"Not true.. just some of us who did help out didn't say anything." Kyle says as he gets in the car and starts back to work on his jammer. Clearly he isn't going to discuss what he did in that past, and just as clearly he's still angry at himself.

"Ok, we all stop arguing and whinning." says Andrew, raising a bit his voice. He take a pause to calm himself and continue."Sorry. Anyway, it isn't the time for that. Everyone is ready to continue?"

It was obvious the events the kids have been through were starting to wear on them. They were still sticking together however, they were being worn down by the struggle they have been forced into. After a brief amount of time, Jenn got them loaded up and they continued on their way, Lorenzo leading the way, feeling pretty confident he was following the proper path.

Night began to fall and deep down, each of the children felt relieved that they had no other occurrences. They continued down a road that saw less and less traffic as time went by. Once it became totally dark it seemed like they were the only cars on the road. Gabe and Andrew both noted that there were no towns or stops for the next couple of hours, which was fine with them. The less people to interact with, the better. Even though there was nothing on the road ahead, Lorenzo felt like they were getting closer.

In the distance, a very faint light could be seen, only because of total the darkness that set it off. Lorenzo, Kyle and Gabe all began to feel a bit uneasy.

Gabe

Gabe's lazy half-sleep was snapped by the light shining off in the distance. Somehow, it didn't seem right.

It's a Sentinal up there. They're watching all the roads out. What are we gonna do?

Gabe's thoughts raced through his head like a wild fire shedding light on every boogy man in his mind. Eleyna's hand and shadowy head took the edge from his fear but couldn't quench the uneasy feeling.

"Hey, do you guys know what's up there? Maybe it is a check point or something."

ANdrew looks at the horizon. "Isn't it simply the lights of some town... wait, the next town is a good distance from here. A control point here? Now you suggest it, I start to dislike that light."

Lorenzo Reynolds HPs: 2/2

Lorenzo was driving along, humming to a tune to keep himself awake. He perked up and stopped humming when he saw the light.

"Pretty faint light . . . probably the next town," Lorenzo commented. "I know it sounds weird, but this feels like the right way . . . and I think we're getting close."

He looked to Kyle for his opinion.

OOC: I think I'm still with Kyle and Corey, right?

Eleyna squinted her eyes as she attempted to discern the source of the light ahead. Gabe seemed uneasy, even though he was attempting to cover. "I dunno. I can't quite make it out. Jenn, do you have, ummm... super-sight or whatever? Can you see what it is?"

"Sorry, then they offered that or good looks I chose being hot."

Her eyes leave the street for a second to flash a reasuring smile at Eleyna and then she concentrates on following Zo again, allways ready for sudden stop on his part since she has no idea what's up front.

Gabe

The feeling in his gut just kept growling louder and louder as the lights came near.

"Maybe we should pull over and get speedy to check it out."

Gabe's mind raced for a solution. Doom stood ahead with those lights. He just knew it. He couldn't let Eleyna get captured again. Not again, he'd already failed her once. Dad would be proud.

Radios! Cops will be using radios! Come on power, work. work. work. Work.

OOC: Trying to tune into the radio waves
