DC for natural poisons

Geocorona

First Post
I know about the size bonus for vermin, but how do you come up with a base DC for monster poison?

Is it based on quantity (10 + HD/2 + CONmod), or is it based on the chemical strength of the poison?

Well, officially it's: 10+(Creatures HD/2)+(Creatures Con modifier). AS it is written in the MM on page 9. Now the precise effect of the poison is what makes it deadly.

Such as

Primary - - - - - Secodary

2d6 Con - - - - - 2d6 Con
1d10 Con - - - - Death

And so on...

Besides you can always give the creature an extraordinary ability like the following:

Potent Venom (Ex): The creatures poison attacks are more potent than normal, increasing the base DC with (Insert number here.)

Or, perhaps that would be better suited as a feat?

Hope I was of assistance.

No, not really, many people who own the books forget to read them, take BOZ for example, he has Deities and Demigods, and it still took him several weeks of constant pressure from me to read the damn SDA section. LOL! :D But you really should invest in the MM, but I suggest you wait until the revision is out. But as long as I can be of assistance, keep asking questions.
