DCC #7 by Black Blade Publishing

darjr

I crit!
Table Top Adventures had a booth at at Nuke-Con and were selling Black Blades DCC #7 and I had to buy it.

I have not had a chance to read it yet but I do have some players that will want to run in it, maybe more than I thought. It's a bit of a chuckle seeing the DCCisms right next to the AD&Disms.

I'm looking for advice and experiences and such. Was this also a 3eish adventure?

Originally it was completely a 3E adventure. Maybe even late enough to be a 3.5E adventure. Go to Goodman Games website and look up their 3E "history" product catalogue.

It seems rather odd to me that they would chose to redo a adventure that had already been done in C&C given how close it and AD&D are. But then I suppose it could have made the changes easier.

It's very similar to the 1e U-series (Secret of Saltmarsh, etc.) and could be very easily used to in conjunction with them.

In fact, I've often wondered if the author didn't write the module originally as a gap filler between U2 and U3. That's certainly how I'd use it.

Hey, yea. I was kinda getting that vibe as well. The ending seems a twist on the theme though... I wonder if that was by design?

Thanks for the interest, folks :D

DCC#7 was converted from 3e back to 1e without reference to the C&C module, since we didn't know at the time that it had already been converted to C&C.

We've received several comments from folks about the module being very evocative of the U-series AD&D modules, which is a nice compliment!

If you have other Qs, we'll be happy to answer them.
