Its unlikely that WotC does this.

First, there are more "Tinfoil hats" people out there than you think who don't want a company observe what they do in their free time, especially outside the US.

Second, That might actually be illegal in some countries

And, most importantly, that would cost WotC lots of money.tting up a data mining system is not that easy, and after WotCs fired most of their IT department I don't see them doing it. Especially as the gain would be minimal.

Why?
Creating an "Idiocracy" for a start.

Playing to the lowest common denominator in a society is very dangerous as it keeps lowering the bar. It's a dynamic, not static thing.
So, say for 4th ed D&D you'd see more and more striker stuff as they are popular and have more numbers iirc, then more would come about as the tracker sees even more use as the percentager has been skewed towards strikers by prior data mining, and more, AND MORE.... until D&D was ONLY about strikers!

Choice and flavour are too damned important.

Good analysis will account for natural skews in the data, though.
