DDI: Does it support the non-transgendered adventurer?

More pertinently, will its dragonborn transvestites have breasts?

Actually, thinking back on the dragonborn thread it was pretty well established that everything was better with boobs. What we have here is WotC listening to their audience and putting boobs on everything. What we are failing to appreciate is that these are all male characters which is why we think they are so ugly. Now all the female characters (which have not been shown yet) also have boobs, but they also have appropriately feminine faces. Personally I think these are great illustrations of the new taller halfling men.

The problem with these character models is that they were never meant to be viewed up close. If you look at the V-mini of the beholder and the Cleric of Pelor, it's obvious that they are using the DDM models or a close aproximation.

Has anyone ever looked at a D&D Miniature up close? Bleh!! They work great when viewed from 2-3 feet away, but the paint jobs and modeling are not exactly "high res".

So for the DDI character models, just make a close aproximation of your character and then NEVER ZOOM IN. Just keep your view on the Game Table zoomed out far enough and, when you see your character on the Character Generator screen, stand back from your computer about 6 feet.

See? It's just like your kitchen table... just like they promised!

I don't know: if low charisma characters get THESE representations and high charisma ones get something even marginally better, I guarantee you that charisma will not be a DDI dump stat.

I'm even more comfortable with this not being supported by Mac now.
Heh. :D

I see this as a good thing. Clearly the D&D Insider designers have never seen a woman, just like all true D&D geeks.
Dude, have you seen the guy in green? I don't think they've ever seen a man either.
That or else Shemp's put on some weight.

As a 3D designer/animator, I have to say I am appalled. I thought we left graphics like this behind in the 90's? Even if they don't want to spend the money in development, and there are tools like DAZ3D to help amateurs create their characters, why not do something they could transpose across to DDO 4E when it happens?

Of course, an interesting approach could be that your figure changes according to your abilities. Eg, a high strength character is ripped while a low cha character is fugly. Even so, who wants to escape into a world where they look truely homely? I can understand playing really ugly characters, but ordinary people?
