A fine mini, but I fear his staff will curve outrageously if I got him in NZ.

I always found it amusing how Raistlin was supposed to be weak and frail but 10 str & con in '3d6 roll in order' 1st edition was perfectly fine - especially as he pulled a 16 & 17 where they mattered. Really, he was described as being much lower than his average scores.

Heck, Caramon had a 13 Intelligence IIRC, far from being a "big dumb Fighter", as well.

Yeah, Raistlin's stats indicated a much more physically fit character than was portrayed in the books. Then again, the books did a poor job of portraying the game in pretty much every aspect, anyway.

Now that miniature... if they make the skin actually golden like it's supposed to be, and not crayon yellow, I would actually like to own....

And that's quite an amazing compliment, coming from me (I despise miniatures in general.) I'd be more than happy to own a couple really cool ones just for their appearance, and, well, the sheer coolness of Raistlin is also a selling point.

To bad I absolutely refuse to buy randomly packaged collectible anything, on principle.

Raistlin and I are supposedly the same height (5'8"). He is basically described as the frailest, skinniest man that can still walk upright and not die from a stiff breeze.

Yet the sickly, jaundiced bastard outweighs me by a good 20 lbs according to his info paragraph in one of the olde modules.

Makes me feel like a totally weak, pathetic scrap of a person.

On topic; the mini looks decent, and I will be absconding with it soon. Yay.

I am sure he totally won't have the stats I wrote for him, either. Those jerks!

Raistlin had the lowest Constitution of all of the Heroes of the Lance, by the way. Sure, it was 10, but everybody else had more stamina than a horse.

Cheers,
Cam

Hm.... I'm sure they have some gold colour lying around, couldn't they use that? Better than looking like a Chinese guy from some cheap comic book.

Many of the minis have undergone some color changes from preproduction to production. I'm not going to ding them too hard on that, right now.

I think the mini looks pretty good, overall. I do hope they change the yellow hue a bit in production, though.
