Deadwood--A little late but I love this show

As an addendum, I found this curiously appropriate addition to the Wikipedia:

Wikipedia Entry said:
Cable TV series: Deadwood

"HBO's series Deadwood had a reputation for salty dialogue even before the first episode aired. It was nearly impossible, they said, to keep count of the number of f-words spoken during each program. We took it as a challenge."

* Total :):):):):) in series: 1930
* Cumulative series FPM: 1.48

* Total :):):):):) in Season Two: 1099
* Average :):):):):) per episode: 91.6

* Total :):):):):) in Season One: 831

Now that is some SERIOUS planning for profanity. :D

This is not a representative sample of 1800s westerners, but rather an assortment of bottom-feeders dredged from the scum of the populace.

True. On the "making of" documentary, found in the extras disk of the DVD box set, it's repeatedly mentioned that a very, very high percentage of the people who re-located to Deadwood were of the criminal variety. The type that either wanted to get rich quick, or the type that needed to hide out in a camp that prided itself on not having laws or government. Thus the language.

The leading cause of death for residents of Deadwood was homicide. There was, on average, a killing every day. That should tell you just about everything you need to know.
