Wow, talk about opposite ends of the miniature spectrum.

A lot of the figures are either of the 'yuk' or 'awesome' calibre. Not much looks to be in between.

But, I want a blue dragon... :D

So the distribution is only 11 common, along with 25 uncommon and 24 rare? If a buyer's going to wind up with far more commons to begin with, doesn't offering such a low ratio of different common minis seem kind of lame? Especially when of those 11, we get things like giant frogs and celestial dire badgers.

Looks like we get 2 uncommon large minis though (dire bear and skullcrusher ogre). If that's accurate, it rocks.

24 rares, 24 uncommons, 12 commons.

You get 1 rare, 3 uncommons and 4 commons in a booster.

There are 12 boosters to a case - a case will give you 1 or 2 of each uncommon and 4 of each common almost all of the time.

I've bought 2 boosters and got the Beholder and the Large Blue Dragon - both absolutely amazing figures. Really, really good. Two of the best of the line. :)

Cheers!

Some of these guys are just bloody comical - that giant frog looks like he's either melting or being stepped on... And the Whirling Steel Monk, the Dragonblade Ninja, the Grim Necromancer, the Spellstiched Hobgoblin and the Deathlock all look like they're about to hit the dance floor. That forest troll looks like someone should change his diaper...

I do like some of them though - the Skullcrusher Ogre, the Blue Dragon, the Aspect of Nerull, the Boneclaw, the Beholder and the Flind Captain to name a few. It's a shame you can't just buy the ones you want...

Cheers!

Don't discount the Giant Frogs (looks at the Village of Hommlet)!

In truth, the smaller number of commons has a lot to do with the fact that there aren't that many figures that can be done as commons.

Rob Heinsoo explained the reasoning - you can find it here:

I call BS. By decreasing the number of common figures and not otherwise monkeying with the mix, WOTC simplifies their production lines for the largest number of figures, reducing costs and increasing profit margin on the miniatures. I suspect all else is coincidental, or otherwise a convenient explanation. Aren't that many figures that can be done as commons, my tuckus. Lots of the uncommons could do perfectly well as commons.

Which won't stop me from buying miniatures, but will annoy me even more when I have larger numbers of certain common figures I don't use -- so I may buy fewer from this set. I'm not coming up with giant frog encounters just to put them to use.

24 rares...I guess I'll have to buy 2 cases to increase my chances of getting them. Yeah...I have an illness thanks to these blasted figs!!!
