Deathknell Gallery up

Keep in mind with the distribution that there are two divergent goals going on with these minis. People are collecting them for RPG use and for skirmish use. The common/uncommon/rare breakdown attempts to address these two issues in one mechanic, making minis you'd likely need a lot of for D&D common, those that might by PCs uncommon, and those that might be BBEGs rare. Likewise, uncommon and rare minis are given better skirmish abilities to trade off for the difficulty you have in collecting them.

Typically I'm happy (in theory) with the breakdown and the choice of who are common and who are uncommon.

I've talked to 3 people who have picked up some packs of Deathknell, and all of them have managed to get a Beholder in their first few packs. Maybe it's not quite as rare as the other rares? Or is it because it's just so big and heavy it's easy to cherry-pick from the other packs?

I picked up a case yesterday and had no dupes of rares in my case.

My buddy that works at the store I got it from said that they had seen 6 cases opened and none had dupes in the case. The store opened three cases and ended up with 3 beholders.

So far the only thing that has me concerned is that it doesn't seem like the Greenfang druid will actually be able to control the dire bear in skirmish. Any body know how the new "wild" feature is working?

I'll be picking up more over the next few weeks as soon as the shock of the case price fades from the wifes memory.

Thanks

I actually don't like the looks of the blue dragon in this set; I guess I'm in the minority. I think the white zombie dragon looks much cooler (and can double as a large white dragon to boot!).

I suffer from Plastic Crack.......

Now that Deathknell has been released- where are our previews of Anglefire!?!? Comon' it comes out July....gimme gimme gimme!

In truth, the smaller number of commons has a lot to do with the fact that there aren't that many figures that can be done as commons.

Oh, I think that's pretty debatable.

Rob Heinsoo explained the reasoning - you can find it here:

It's not a bad rationale, as long as you don't include things like giant frongs and celestial dire badgers in the mix.

Would like to see more animals and vermin as common. Some tiny commons would be good.

The Greenfang Druid can command all Difficult20 and Wild Animals and Magical Beasts. So yes... he can, indeed, command the Dire Bear. By the way, the Dire Bear is HOT!!! :)

I've bought 2 boosters and got the Beholder and the Large Blue Dragon - both absolutely amazing figures. Really, really good. Two of the best of the line. :)

So is the beholder really that heavy? It seems like you must have 'picked these up' at your FLGS.

The beholder really is that heavy - one pack was the beholder, but the heavier one had a dire bear and the LBD.

Cheers!
