Decipher's Lord of the Rings RPG - A Review

Somebody was asking about this game, so I thought I'd bump up my review of it.

I think the game itself could stand alone, without the background. However, and this is just my guess, the resemblance between this game and d20 might become even more apparent in that case. Still, it would be interesting to see Decipher use the system for a generic game, or as the engine behind their own setting.

I would love to see a 2nd Age ME setting. It would be a great followup and characters playing in it would be less overshadowed by the feeling that the main characters of LOTR are somewhere trying to destroy the ring. Decipher...are you listening?...please

Thanks for the review, CH. I know how much you care for the setting, and how much you've worked towards something similar for d20, so it's nice to see a review of this book. You've definitely convinced me to pick it up in the near future. A well-written review, too.
