I will also say that with all the releases being smashed into late summer/fall/winter I definitely feel like I couldn't handle this many releases so close together as a standard. I only just got Planescape, I'm not ready to think about the Deck! I haven't even gotten through Bigby's completely!

I noticed that too. With the updated Deck in the 2024 DMG it really feels like we may get some Greyhawk next year.

Yeah, at least created by a goddess from the Baklunish pantheon, of all things: far as I know, Istus isn't even one of the Greyhawk deities who has shown up elsewhere at any time, like Pelor or Kord. Definitely not a Forgotten Realms link!

Qell, no, the new lore makes Istus, who is a Hreyhawk-only deity, the origin of the Deck. That's...interesting.

Except it never had a definitive origin before (at least according to the video). They specifically chose, as part of this product, to create a definitive origin for it and chose a Greyhawk deity to do that.

Yeah, I don't thinknthwt Greyhawk will be a "default" Settingz or displace the Forgotten Realms or anything, butnusing some Greyhawk stuff for generic products seems to be their Modus Operandi: Istus creating rhe Deck of Many Things, Bigby making a study of Giant-kind, Mordenkainen cataloging the multiverse, etc.

We do know that they have said they are emphasizing the named mages in the named Spells int hebcore book lore: well, they are all Greyhawk figures...

Right. The Greyhawk Folio was my first campaign setting.

But it might just be that she was chosen because all of the original artifacts were from Oerth.
