?? A Foe Hunter doesn't have any threat-range-modifying abilities...?

A Weapon Master does, and it stacks with both Keen Edge and Improved Critical. A Longsword Weapon Master with a Keen Longsword and Improved Critical has a threat range of 13-20.

-Hyp.

Though any Weapon Master who wastes a +2 to his threat range on a *2 multiplier weapon should be put into the pillory :D

Are we talking Foe Hunter from FRCS here? If so, he does get Imrpoved Critical against one race.

What book does Weapon Master come from? Strikes me as odd that he can have both Improved Critical and inner abilities that do the same.

Ah, okay. There's also a PrC in MotW called "Foe Hunter", which doesn't get Improved Critical.

Sword and Fist.

Level 7, Ki Critical: Gain the Improved Critical feat for free. If you already possess this feat, add an additional +2 to the threat range of your weapon of choice.

-Hyp.

Ahh, that explains. I can see the mixup.

Heh, I checked, must've read over it the 1st time.

That's indeed one tough PrC. Sounds a little broken if you ask me. For the +2 thread range, it makes more sense to get it on a weapon that has a higher multiplier, but if you also consider the +1 to multipliers several times a day AFTER you already know you got a critical, that might balance it out a bit. Then again, you probably upuse those +1 to multipliers with a 20/x3 weapon as well, considering all those threat bonuses.

If you also consider that you do max damage when not making a critical, you probably want to heap up your criticals as much as possible.

Honestly, this class seems a little broken, though.

??????

There's no Foe Hunter PrC in any Realms book. And WotC wouldn't use the same name as another PrC (although they've made that mistake with spells).

From the FRCS:
Foe Hunter [Fighter, General]...
Benefit: Your homeland dictates the type of foe you have trained against. When fighting monsters of that race, you gain a +1 competence bonus on damage rolls with melee attacks and with ranged attacks at ranges of up to 30 feet, and you act as if you had the Improved Critical feat with the weapon you are using. This benefit does not stack with the Improved Critical feat/

So yes, there is a Foe Hunter feat in the FRCS, and no, it doesn't stack with the Improved Critical feat.

Oh, and Hyp's right; I believe the clarification (errata) is in Sage Advice, Dragon 293 (the "world-builder" issue).

Yeah, Hyp was right. I don't know about all PrC's, there are too many (I usually play lowend games).

Though that bonus is an additional +2, not a multiplier.

So you still have the 2 options I listed, and after that, you could add an additional +2 using this PrC.

I still think it's broken.

I am playing a Deepwood sniper ATM . I also posted about the same thing about keen edge. The DM interpreted it as a misprint, also it says in the 1st level of deepwood that all keen effects dont stack. Imp crit does. I reckon that you should be allowed once a day to cast keen edge on your melee wep or on someone elses. If not given a free feet. There is no info to say that it is a misprint.

It's a misprint, it shouldn't be there.

If you agree with your DM, you could make one other weapon Keen once per day, but it's useless for launchers you fire, since all missiles already become keen.
