Deity ability scores question

Striderman

First Post
hey all, I suspect that this has been brought up before, but I can't find it anywhere. but looking through Deities and Demigods, pretty much all the deities have some pretty huge ability scores that are far beyond what they might have had purely from their character level and whatever items they may have. but then looking back in the beginning about defining deities' stats, etc, it says nothing about their ability scores and improving or increasing those. Does anybody out there have a good system for dealing with this and determining appropriate ability scores? or has it been brought up by wizards at some point? I can't get into their site right now, as it appears to be down, so I don't know.
There is a strong likelyhood that some of the characters in my campaign will be ascending to at least rank 0 godhood, and I also am still designing the gods of my game world, and I just would like to know if there is some system other than arbitrary decision on my part. thanks, all.

According to Skip Williams, here is the method they used for DDG:

"Essentially deities have a standard array (see DMG, Chapter 2): 35, 28, 25, 24, 24, 24 Add +1 for every 4 class levels the deity has. Also add +1 of every point of divine rank. "

EDIT: This method doesnt actually seem to work for several (ok, quite a few) of the gods, but that is what Williams says...so there ya go. :D
