Deluxe 4E Core Books

Just got this info today.
The Deluxe PHB, MM, and DMG will have a street date of October 21. The boks will have a foil-effect cover (not leather) and will contain errata-corrected text for the books. There will be no ribbons in these books, but will include some sort of tabs.
They are supposed to have new cover art, and retail at $74.95

Please tell me that's for the set, not per-book. A shiny cover, new art and a few tabs is nowhere near enough for 75$ times three. I like the idea of a reprint with the errata, especially since I haven't actually gotten the books myself yet, but not for that much.

Foil cover? Yuck. Faux leather and gilt page edges is one thing, but to me 'foil cover' says "Limited" edition comic and Chase Rare CCG Card.

Gilt page edges are here. I erred about the cover. The artwork has the "foil" effect. Sorry.

From Wizards of the Coast Weekly Update 9/2/08

Do to production issues they are switching the release dates of D&D Martial Powers book and the D&D Starter kit. The Starter kit will be released on October 21st, and the Martial Powers book will be released on November 17th. There have also been changes to the Deluxe Edition of the Core books, please call and talk to your sales representative about those.

emphasis mine. Anyway, I spoke to our sales rep. The original post is what he told me. Apparantly the WotC listing on their web site has not yet been updated. Not the first time.
