Demon with a Glass Hand 2.0 [IC]

Shard lifts her face towards the sky, and the crystal in her forehead glows gently.

"In the beginning, there was only the sun and stars. Those of us who lived ate light, for light was the food of the spirits. It filled us and made us strong and gave us the will to struggle against the darkness when it came...at first..."

As she speaks what must be a spell, streams of light become visible spiraling in a circle and wrapping around that crystal with it in the middle. The whirling pattern was reminiscent of a whirlpool in water, as though the crystal were somehow drawing light into itself. Sure enough though, the glow becomes brighter and brighter with each passing moment.

Abruptly a dazzling white bar, perfectly straight, is drawn in the air between her and one of the abyssal raptors. It hovers steadily for a moment, then cuts across and down, cutting through flesh and bone and leaving a glassed streak in the sand where it touches.

Does 45 damage. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1477832/ Target is blinded for 1 round (can't see until just before her next action), and dazzled (-1 attack rolls) for 1d4 rounds.)

Caladan charges into one of the raptors, striking and dealing some damage but the creature seems fairly unphased by the hit.

Elend strikes the same target dealing 32 damage. This leaves the raptor bloodied.

The calvalry manuever, thier riders casting spells to enrage their raptors or beginning a battle song. The raptors themselves split up, four going around the outside of the local buildings and riding past, while four jump onto Caladan. Two make full attacks, one charges and pounces, and the last only gets a single strike.

1 talon attack, 2 foreclaw attacks, and 1 bite attack land. They deal 19, 12, 13, and 19 damage.

The riders going along the outside seem to be in a dead sprint to avoid conflict.

Shard fires her lance at the raptor flanking diagnally against Caladan, dealing 45 damage and bloodying the creature.

Korgan lands a blow against the same creature for 14 damage.

We need to move more quickly, Korgan thinks seeing Caladan being swarmed. These vermin are but the first course. What will be next?

"Stand firm, Caladan! We are with you," he bellows. Attempting to dance around the fierce blows of the creatures in front of him, the cleric mumbles some words in an attempt to increase his speed.

Elend leaps forwards into range as one dagger appears back in his hands and this time he throws a pair of blades with one motion, aiming for the wounded target behind Caladan and trying to thin the enemy's ranks before his ally is surrounded and dragged down by numbers. After his throw he slips backwards into cover to prevent a countercharge.

(gah, I thought I'd posted to this! Sorry all!)

Between her dizzying flickers, Shard moves over thirty feet towards the gate, then walks until she's directly south of the line of creatures attacking. Turning north to face them, she intones, "Though it is but a trickle, and it hurts me...I would throw myself on a fire to end your wickedness!"

She throws her arms out, and the crystal in her forehead shines with inner light...softer and whiter than the harsh light of the sun, but no dimmer. For a moment, it almost seems as if the light will consume Shard, exploding out of her like a bird from an egg...but then the crack in the crystal gleams, and radiance spills out from within. It boils along a raging torrent of brilliance, shines out like a searchlight, and engulfs the three goblins and their monstrous mounts!

(Quickened Dimension Hop 35' to the east, then a move action to get to W21. Celestial Lance northward as a standard action, hitting all three. 7th level slot. DC 24 ref save for half. Damage: 30 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1486571/ , doesn't hurt those with Good alignment.)

Caladan

Bruised but not beaten, Caladan summons forth the powers of the Shadow Plane into his sword and then pools them with his own psychic energies. With the two forces combined together he lashes out at his enemies with devastating results.

[Sblock=OOC]Full Attack Action: Attacks abyssal Raptor at W14. Uses Psychic Strike (+4d8) and Shadow Bane (Gives Umbra Mind Blade Bane vs Evil Outsiders & Shadow Plane Natives (+2 attack & +2d6)).

If he falls the target his Psychic Strike automatically recharges.
