Why do your players need to run away? Aside from the chance of murder.
I wasnt planning on murdering my players or their PCs. They ran into a fight without taking a rest and took a good amount of damage in the first few rounds of combat. Instead of retreating they just kept fighting. The first PC dropped on the third round the second on the fourth round and the last died on the fifth round. If they even mentioned retreating, I'd have let them get away without pursuit.

Weird, wonder why your post I quoted is different from the one you posted?
