D&D 3E/3.5 Devoted Defender in 3.5?

Did the Devoted Defender PrC make it into 3.5? (I didn't find it in Complete Warrior or Adventurer). If not, does this mean the 3.0 version is ok, or does it mean it is unbalanced?

I think that the default view is that if it hasn't been updated, it doesn't need to have been.

IIRC, there was one similar prestige class in one of the 3.5 Forgotten Realms supplements which had some similar abilities. However, I don't recall which PrC it was, unfortunately.

Cheers,

Maquar Crusader, p.38 "Shining South" resembles the Devoted Defender with 3.5 rules.

If only I ever bought FR products...

I love the devoted defender and would love to see an update.

What is the Maquar Crusader that gives it the resemblance to the dd? I'd think crusader would be pretty far from defender...

He gets :
Harm's way
Defensive Strike
Deflect Attack
Uncanny loyality
Allied defense
and smite

He has a charge to protect and if he stays in 5 ft from his charge he gets this special abilities. Very similar to the good old devoted defender. The name isn't a good choice. Maquar Defender would fit better.
Multiclass with Paladin freely.
Got a code of conduct.
A very strong class if you want to play a bodyguard.

Thanks for the information, I'll look that new one up and see if either option works for my DM.

I'm thinking of making a high-CON dwarven fighter and it would be nice to be able to use all those hit point to protect someone else as well.
