The Dog House Gang is mighty pleased to announce the release of the first Buckshots adventure: For Whom the Bugle Blows.
While makin’ their way across the Texas plains, our intrepid heroes turn up traces of Comanche war parties. Hardly a happy finding, but durned intriguing. What’s more, they also hit upon hints of the U.S. Cavalry in the vicinity. ‘Pears as if the Cavalry and the Comanche are playin’ a game of cat and mouse—and the heroes have wandered into a powerfully volatile situation.
This 36 page Branded for Recoiled adventure features a four-part Prelude and four full-scale Scenes, along with six major NPCs and some scattergun-fodder mooks. While intended for 4-8 characters of 7th-10th level, For Whom the Bugle Blows also comes armed with ideas for scalin’ the adventure to handle characters at various levels.
For Whom the Bugle Blows is the first of a line of Buckshots adventures fit for any Wild West campaign. Each adventure will contain these elements:
Introduction & Adventure Synopsis: A brief narrative describin’ how the adventure should play out, so the Judge can get saddled up real quick-like.
For the Judge: Intended player character levels, secrets for set-up and other stuff that players shouldn’t read unless they plan to have their eyes burned out of their sockets.
Getting Started: Some quick-hittin’ tips for the Judge to fold this adventure into a home-brewed game or to prepare for a one night stand, so to speak.
Scenes: The main course in this here plate of vittles—fully described scenes where all the action happens, including maps, “read-aloud” text, rules and details for the Judge.
Forks in the Road: Alternate ways to shoot these Buckshots into an ongoing campaign or load up a one-shot adventure on the frontier.
Personalities: Full character descriptions for all the characters involved in the adventure, including full statistic blocks for Sidewinder: Recoiled play.
Gameplay Aids: Various tools for the Judge, including full character sheets that Judges can hand out to players who might be takin’ on the role of an NPC, as well as special “index-card” combat blocks to make it easy for the Judge to fill a character’s hide with lead . . . er, that is, to help move combat along during the adventure.
P.S. For Whom the Bugle Blows sells for a paltry $6.75 at RPGNow and e23.
