Without the care for such accuracy, people eyeball square shapes on square grids and move on with their game.

Sure, one can use other charts with other coordinate systems, but since most of the charts out there are square grids, 1-1-1 is going to be the most effective means of determining distance.

I've asked this before, but if I've gotten an answer, I've missed it in the mad shuffle that Enworld has been in for the last couple months.

What's the "proper" way to deal with larger than medium size things with hexes? Is it expanding triangles, or expanding hexes?
