D&D 4E Did WOTC lie to 4e players about 5e?

You make a number of evidential assumptions that I wouldn't be so quick to make:

1) The gentleman in the video is telling the truth. Seriously, he loves 4e so much and is so hurt but the Pathfinder DM screen just happens to be prominent?

2) That he was repeatedly told 5e was not going to be a reality - I've yet to see empirical evidence that people were told there would never be a 5e from knowledgeable sources. Indeed, I'd have to question the intelligence of anyone who believed there'd never be a 5e.

3) That he really likes 4e. Again, given the context, a more likely explanation is that this is nothing more than an amateur trolljob - a true artist would have understood subtle.

4) Listening to this guy ramble some more, I seriously question his gaming intelligence.

Seriously, you start up posting here with the 5e announcement, have posted this video, have asserted that WotC employees (or those directed by WotC) are regularly here and shilling for their products or casting aspersions against competitors.

If I spent 1000 dollars in one year on a product that I was told was going to be sticking around for a number of years and it was suddenly dropped I wouldn't be so happy either.

The subject of WOTC having low paid people coming here or on there boards to do influential advertising is a subject for another thread. We should stick to the topic. Thanks.

Definitely sending a mixed message when talking about his love for 4E

And with that demise of your credibility, current and past, you might as well stop posting for a bit, become educated on the subject, and then resume when you are more knowledgeable about the situation.

Please go to another thread if you don't like the subject. There isn't any need for personal slams here.

Allegedly spent 1000 years on a product that he and his group derived 1 year of happiness from, not to mention future years that could be so engaged. Again, allegedly though.

And no, you should probably put all of the unsubstantiated, unsupported, untenable conspiracy theories into one thread for easier digestion.

I took that as a message to WOTC of where he went after the 5e announcement. Though it would be interesting to see the 1000 dollar pile of product that he bought. Did WOTC even release an amount of 4e product to equal a 1000 dollar expenditure?

Which was another red flag. To help pad out that $1000 I would have expected to see a few hundred minis lying around.

(edit: the dragons are nice, though. And as we all know, mini-scale model dragons can ONLY be used with 4e, so I eagerly await his upcoming ebay sale.)

It's advice, learn more about a subject before posting about it.

As it is, in order for there to be $1000 4e books, then you'd need what, 40 books at $25 average (retail)?
