Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If you had to go by that, you'd say WotC is going out of business tomorrow.

I got it as a gift.

To be honest, I have no earthly idea what to do with it - it's too expensive to use and batter about, so I guess it's just an expensive (well, not for me) decoration.

But yes, it does have a ribbon!

this poll does not bode well for this book. En Worlders are usually more likey to shell out money then most gamers. WE have lots of high spenders here yet very few people here are willing to buy it.

I can't imagine buying this. Instead, I could buy the Iron Kingdoms World Guide, the Advanced Player's Handbook and still have a bit of cash left over to spend on pdfs from RPG now.

Quick question: does the Mongoose Pocket Player's Handbook use the SRD with the errata fixed? If so, I may just pick that up and forget about buying a reprinted PHB or the SE PHB...

Incidentally, the latest printing of the regular PHB has all the errata in it. You don't need to get the Special Edition to get it...

...but I have a ribbon! :D

and an extra page insert explaining the why the errata was included... or some such.

i use mine as much as i used my other 3.11ed for Workgroups PHBs.

Not even if it was human skin

Wait for Version 3.75. :heh:
I did not buy this, nor do I have any intention to. (Though I do love books with ribbons.)

Normally, I don't mind shelling out extra cash for a "Special Edition" of books I love. (I own and use many of the White Wolf "World of Darkness" special edition core books--though, granted, they came with art-books as well.)

But WotC already has enough of my money, what with all the 3.0 books, and then the 3.5 books on top of it. And I already have the errata, so (ribbon aside!!) there's no incentive for me to get this, even at a discount.

It's not the first 'collector's edition' book I've passed. Chaosium, for a while there, just keep making more and more improved versions of their special edition.

About the only 'special' edition I broke down and bought was the GURPS 4th ed one in the slipcase with the nice covers.

I also bought the Exalted slipcase but had to return it becaue the art book was shoved in their crooked and was bent all out of shape. Ah, shame about that.
