I had a group decide to play 2E during the 5E era. I dropped from the game. It is such a painful system. I could see going back to 3E or 3.5 .... or AD&D for true novelty ... but never 2E again.I would do that if it was an option aka finding the players or location.
I wouldn't abandon 5E maybe alternate. the campaigns. And I would pick playing 5E over DMing second.
Would love to play a 2E game nearest DM I know of is 1400+ kilometers away.
I'm playing in a game with players in Newfounland, california, texas and australia. Remote playing with cameras is not so bad!Would love to play a 2E game nearest DM I know of is 1400+ kilometers away.
... there are slurs for specific D&D editions?!?When the lead designer explicitly referenced anti-4e edition war slurs, even if he intended them as a joke, it was pretty clear what the actual sentiment was.
... there are slurs for specific D&D editions?!?![]()
Kinda but anything negative said about 4E was a slur. Weren't allowed to say anything bad (apparently).
Yes. But I won't say more here, trying to avoid injecting any further edition warring into the thread.... there are slurs for specific D&D editions?!?![]()
Your criticism would be more effective if I were not aware of your posting history (here and elsewhere) regarding 4e. As it stands, it seems to me you're just continuing the edition war (not that that surprises me, given your lopsided criticism of it in rhe past.)Kinda but anything negative said about 4E was a slur. Weren't allowed to say anything bad (apparently).
Kind of was a mod enforced bubble. 5E playtest was spoiled 2011 but wasn't believed by the devout since 4E was doing so well.
I'll just note that I wasn't a particular fan of 4e, but there were absolutely sets of repeated denigrations directed at it. A few were extensions of some things aimed at 3e, but some were brand new. So I think this is overly blithe.
