12 Pipers piping (or is that Lord a' leaping)

Seriously:

a dozen guilds - one for every core class + a core PrC one
a dozen holidays - we look forward to them in RL, why not in gaming
a dozen taverns - can you ever have too many?
a dozen graveyards - maybe make on extraplanar shifting among the multiverse.

Already did holidays . . .

-explanations of why dragons like treasure
Read Grendel. I believe the dragon's advice goes something like "Life is meangingless anyway, so you might as well find a big pile of treasure and sit on it."

I mean, what would you do if you were effectively the most powerful being you had ever met? At some point a dragon must just say 'What they hey, nothing left to do but sit down and enjoy all that treasure I accumulated.' Until the PCs come along to change that...

Sorry for the hijack. :)

Some more...

...anti-heroes

...1-page background histories for any NPC

...campfire stories (I'm picturing a group of PCs camping and telling spooky stories; you could have 2 stories that could be told by each non-human core race and then 1 for humans or some non-core race)

...nervous tics and the reasons behind them

...kingdom banners and the stories behind them

...family histories

...unusual pets

...ways to leave your lover

Evil Paladins
(Not Evil as in alignment, but Evil in they would stop the party as their definition of Lawful Good does not include the Party)

Mine was a long those lines. Heroic Antagonists. Good guys working for good causes in direct opposition to the party.

Without having a list of the other "Dozen" books (I keep meaning to check them out)...

I *love* the Epic Creatures one mentioned above. That may have to be my request if I win. I love how it could integrate epics into a game, or supply the seed (allowing me to flesh out the finer details) for an entire campaign from its humble beginnings to its epic conclusion. And you'd get 12 of those in one book? I know I'd buy it.

Other suggestions...

"Dastardly Villans" Some of the archetypal villans from fiction and fantasy. From the gritty crime lord to the ever reviled evil step mother.

"Codes of Conduct" A collection of ethical (and some not-so-ethical) codes that players could choose for their characters to follow. Complete with circumstances that tend to foster such codes, or example societies that might place some importance on them.

"Weapons of Opportunity" Not sure how viable this idea is, but it could either be a listing of 12 individual items that could be used as weapons (or be otherwise beneficial in combat) or (if we are talking about a slightly larger product) it could be 12 environments (tavern, bedroom, prison, etc..) with a small list of items common to those environments that might be useful in combat.

Apocalyptic prophecies.
Seriously, I need them. Either that, or a crush course in poetry

Geez, Phil, were you so tapped out of ideas you had to fish for them like this? :) :) :) :)

I didn't think I was out of ideas but seeing this thread shows me my ideas weren't all that great. :)
