Difference between Manyshot and Improved Manyshot?

Greetings all

What is the difference between the two? In the ELH it states that you can fire one extra arrow for every 5 points above +1 BAB. Anyone?

manyshot maxes out at 4 arrows at +16 bab. Improved manyshot doesn't have any limit and stacks the epic attack bonus with your base attack bonus to determine how many arrows you can shoot at once.

And on a related note, with Improved Manyshot, is there any negative to shooting say, 100 arrows? Just curious if someone with this feat just keeps getting more and more attacks.

Also the Manyshot feat has a cumulative -2 penalty for each additional shot gained.
