Different levels for different pillars?

I heard a rumor IRL that there may be different class/level stats for the 3 different "pillars". The Combat class/level will be separate, "silo'ed" from the Exploration and Roleplaying class/level. A king could have a level 10 Roleplaying class but could still be only a 2nd level fighter. (One of the benefits of a high Roleplaying level would be high-level Combat bodyguards) Any thoughts?

People should stop thinking about pillars. It was a buzzword trown into the room as a vague concept of keeping in mind that playing D&D isn't all about combat.

I don't think there was ever any intention to have seperate mechanics for noncombat activities.

I thought the 'Pillars' were a helpful way of looking at the game. While I could certainly see 'silo'ing the pillars as a good idea, it would allow the DM to run a campaign that emphasized one or two pillars rather than carefully balancing all his adventures to include all three (or conversely, avoid one the party has a blind spot for), I agree 5e shows no signs of heading in that direction. Instead, classes are being 'balanced' by being very good at one pillar and incompetent in the other two, or very good in all three just not at the same time, or whatever...
