That's what my printer is for. :)

Actually, has anyone else noticed that it's not fun to use old books (and comics)? I always feel dirty when I'm flipping through the pages of an old book or comic. Like the years have taken a toll on the paper. It takes me multiple hand washing attempts to get that feel off.

Of course, I do have an aversion to getting dirty so any slight amount of dust leaves me wanting a shower. I may just be a freak.

*Looks at the (non-gaming) books on his shelf that date back to the 19th century...*

No, I can't say as I understand that one at all... the scent and feel of an old book is all the better with age.

The Auld Grump, ah Childe's Ballads...

If you have this old set, pull it out and run a module for a night or two. Seriously.

I would love to do this, but I don't think my group would buy into it. :( I wouldn't want to run a whole campaign but for nostalgia's sake I'd love to run a one-shot.

Shh... I ran a 3.5 'converted' version of B10: Night's Dark Terror. The core elements of the adventure were there, and the huge map of the homestead went over very well as the intro to the campaign. Ahh... I love the scaled maps that were included with a 64-page epic adventure, as well as a *complete* supply of counters... I mean, even counters for NPCs.

Check out the story hour in my signature for how they handled many of that adventure's challenges. There is so much coolness in that module alone I could run it for a year without running out of things to kill the PCs.

On the other hand, there are some lame ones too. Remember X13: The Crown of Ancient Glory? Whoa, was that whole adventure a contrived mess.

Next up for our group: The Isle of Dread? Or perhaps one of the Companion set intermediates, like CM4: Earthshaker? Muhaha, only if they live long enough to get there!

Well, TELL them they are playing it cause you --as the GM-- want to play it. ;) Seriously, my players were a little shocked when I pulled it out, but within a few moments of handing out characters we were playing and moving along.

Yeah, I don't know if I would do a whole campaign, as a one-shot sort of deal, it was a blast and we anticipate the second/last half being as much fun.
