Dimension thinner

Description

Fenbill looked at the wall. "Oh, yes, oh dear, that’s interesting. Mmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm ohh!" He stepped left. The man with the dagger lost his balance as he lunged and ran straight into the wall. "Oh my!" Fenbill back peddled quickly.
"Yu bludy basta'd!" the would be assassin screamed and charged Fenbill. The thin, rather preoccupied Halfling looked more through the knife man then at him.
"Left!" The assassin stabbed left
"Oh, no! Right now!" The assassin obliged.
"Stop that!" the man hissed.
"Lunge, no, slash!" Fenbill ducked the slash.
"WHY YU!"
"Kick!" Fenbill jumped out of the way and dashed off, turning the corner as the knife man was recovering his balance.
"OI'M Gunna skin yu alive!" He turned the corner, there was a woman, wearing the same cloths, rather a bit shorter and stockier then the assassin's mark. What really ticked him off is that she had the same voice.
"Can I help you?" she seemed confused.
"Bludy gnome illusioner!" he stabbed through an incorporeal image.
"That was rude!" she placed her hands on her hips, huffed, and vanished in the puff of a dimensional rift.
"She was right, that really was rude."
"She was right, that really was rude."
"Wha..." The knifeman turned around to meet Fenbill... and... Fenbill, Again?
"I wish you'd stop this nonsense."
"I wish you'd stop this nonsense."
"Shutup!" The knife man lunged at the first Fenbill.
"Left/left!" they said in unison and dodged right. The assassin, struck left.
"AAGGGHHHHHH!!!!!"
"Look lets not be difficult."
"Look lets not be difficult."
"NononononoNoNoNONONONO!"
"Throwing it! / Throwing it!" Unison again. The dagger clattered into the gap between the pair of Fenbills.
"Look, I have an idea." Said one of the victims
"How about you never had this job." Added the other
Fenbill two reached into... the air but his hand disappeared like it was going behind a curtain. The knife man reappeared walking down the alley. Fenbill one disappeared immediately. The knife man waved in a friendly manner at Fenbill, who waved back, stared at the air and said "Interesting, yes, mm-hmm, oh, yes, oh my..."

Clearly mad, most of these space-time tamperers began as simple wizards who delved into the experience of A to B, in no more then a split second. Those few who choose this profession, are said to see alternate realities, and other mind blowing visions. Sometimes they simply descend into madness, whilst others discover their gift, and as the Dimension thinner views more and more realities though the use of their powers they progress in their abilities.

Special abilities descriptions:

-- Foresight (Ex): A peculiar trait that all Dimension thinners possess is to see the very near future; part of the DTh’s mind lies between dimensions that are split seconds out of theirs. Due to this they gain an insight bonus to the reflex save equal to their wisdom modifier. This is however nullified whenever the Dimension thinner is under the effects of a mind-affecting effect.

-- Sixth sense (Ex): Constantly receiving information from other dimension may cause a slight tweaking to the Dimension thinners sanity but it also provides a useful guard against those who wish to surprise them, allowing them to retain their armour class at all times.

-- Peculiar Foresight (Ex): As an extension of the foresight ability, this allows the DTh to add their wisdom modifier to their Armour Class as well as Reflex. This has the same Caveats at the Foresight ability.

--Consequences (Su): “Each dimension has at least one equal and opposite dimension”. Much like the cleric’s link with their deity, the Dimension thinner has a close tie to the near future. Once a day they may search for an answer to a query as the spell divination.

--Token (Ex): Not only is there a strong community bond between different Dimension Thinners it is also there between the same ones, and from alternate dimensions they can pick up skills, so choose a skill that becomes a class skill. A new skill can be taken each time the ability appears on the table.

--Mirror realite (Su): Living up their name the Dimension Thinners can “phase in” other realites (the word some Dimension Thinners use for beings from other realities) by thinning the dimensions; they are only projections, and act just like the spell, Mirror image. The projections disappear when they are interfered with and may be used once a day. One in ten of these realites however differ in a major way from the DTh, a beard, hair colour or even a different gender.

--Dimensional fracture (Su): Briefly moving to between dimension the Dimension thinner can slide through objects. This ability is taxing and can only be used once a day and any other travelling with the dimension thinner are nauseated for 1d4 minutes. They may travel through 1 foot of matter for every two levels of DTh safely, for every extra foot there is a cumulative 10% chance that they are stuck between the dimensional cracks until they are rescued by another DTh or they fade in 1d4 hours.

--Alternate Twin (Su): Calling to fellow dimension thinners between the realities, the DTh may call another of themselves from another dimension. Although similar to a clone this alternate twin is alive and functioning at the moment of calling and remains present in the callers reality for 1d4 hours, however most are returned once they complete what ever task was necessary. The Dimension thinner may use this ability once per week, however some realites are not fond of being pulled out of their realities regularly and punish those who do.

--Reality Shift (Sp): At this high level the Dimension thinner may move between realities, yet even to Dimension thinners the process is unknown. However it is done, it avoids the messy business of doubles in one dimension and a void in others. The effect is nearly identical to a wish spell except that it may only change reality. Such as undoing events up to 1d4 weeks agoand changing specific events like an election or an attack (any applicable roll is re-rolled), money and items may not be granted in this fashion. The Shift may have other consequences that have been inherited from the dimension, as the result is ultimately up to the GM.

Any help is much appreciated.

I like what I can make out for the idea behind this class, but could you clarify how they gain their abilities? Is it just something that happened or is there a 'guild' of DmTs? A little background would help too.

I am not clear on 'One in a Million', firstly, the bonus should be limited to a maximum equal to the DmT's level. And how is the bonus lost? I am confused by this.

The flavor text had me ready for something out of Little Nemo in Slumberland.

If you've never read the old comics, do so, and you'll know exactly what I mean.

I'm reworking the abilities reading them through properly, this time.

I've googled for the comic and it looks cool! I doubt I could get my hands on any.

Ok gone over it, I still don't like the plethora of spells disguised as abilities....

Edit

Ever seen sliders?

In the first episode the person who is developing the sliding technology gets the final "piece" of the equation, from himself from an alternate dimension.

I've added them where their needed PC.

I held of bumping until it went of front page, I didn't wan't it to come to this. Please comment, even if it is just "You haven't changed anything, it still rocks" Or "Scrap it, it sucks don't bother!"

Sounds really cool, but currently, it's really hard to read. I like the ideas, but some editing/rereading of the various abilities/descriptions for clarity would make it a lot more useful.

This PrC seems to come close to some of the powers we used in a Time Warrior.

I like the clone aspect, but it needs to be defined a bit more. In the writeup it seems to be a short term ability, where as the spell is permament. I would remove the EXP cost of clone, but give it a duration of 1 round per level of PrC. Also how often can this be used?

The reality shift seems a bit powerful.

I would change Reality Shift from a wish, to a power our Time Warrior, which is based on a Psionic power (Time Regression). In playtesting it last night it was very cool. I could see Reality Shift be similar, in that instead of going back in time, your character would jump to an alternate reality, which is back in time. Same effect, different mechanics.
