The saurials were pretty significant in 2E Forgotten Realms. There were four races: finheads (hadrosaurs), hornheads (ceratopsians), bladebacks (stegosaurs), and fliers (pterosaurs), all Neutral Good, brought to the Realms from some far-off world by the evil (and now dead) god of filth, Moander, and liberated by the new demigod, Finder Wyvernspur.

They were converted to 3.0 as PC races in an issue of Dragon Magazine a couple of years ago, and WotC eventually put the article on their site for free. It shouldn't be too hard to find them there.

Ah. Well then, unless some d20 publisher created something (and I have no idea if anyone has or not - I know little beyond WotC), I'm afraid you're out of luck. :\

I was wandering has anyone done any humanoid creatures based on dinosaurs? Any stats besides using lizardfolk.

Nope, but a couple of ideas spring to mind:

  • A combination giant/triceratops: the arms and trunk are giant humanoid, the head, legs, and tail are triceratops. Mild-mannered vegetarian with tough hide, heavy armor about the head, and horns.
  • Combo pterodactyl/kobold: arms replaced by big, leathery wings. Also has a long beak. Legs are longer and allows it to move about more nimbly. Lives above the ground, probably up in the mountains with grotto dwellings. Nasty temper, but only able to use tools with its clawed feet.

It is not really what you want, but if you have the Tome of Horrors, you might look at the abomination/hybrid template as a starting point. If you don't have the book, there should be an older version flying around here on the boards. Maybe I can find it...
