Well, the thing is, there actually are king cheetahs. They were legendary beasts in some African folklore, and sightings of larger cheetahs with manes and large black blotches were regarded as hearsay until they were caught, first on film and then by biologists. It turns out that it was just a minor genetic variation, like panthers being melanistic leopards.

Trip (Ex): A dire cheetah that hits with a bite or claw attack can attempt to trip the opponent (+11 check modifier) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of oppertunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to reip the dire cheetah.

Love your work I'm going to borrow the Dire Cat and Dire Cheetah for my campaign. I have a question though. What does reip mean?

Love your work I'm going to borrow the Dire Cat and Dire Cheetah for my campaign. I have a question though. What does reip mean?

Simple misspelling, it's supposed to be trip.

Also, I'll post the next two dire animals next friday or saturday as I'm pretty friggin busy at the moment. It'll be the dire crocodile and my version of the dire hyena.
