Directed Bull Rush from Shock Trooper

Rashak Mani

First Post
One of 3 moves from the Tactical Feat "Shock Trooper":
(Complete Warrior p. 112)

Directed Bull Rush:
Bull rush with charge... and "for every square you push your foe back, you may also push that foe one square to the left or right."

That seems easy enough to handle if you push him only 1-2 squares. He goes back 2 squares and 2 sideways like I shoved him that little bit more... yet I won't be in touch with him. I assume that someone charging has to keep pushing in a straight line.

What if I do manage to push him 3 squares ? How do I handle the 3 sideway moves ? He'll be 2 squares away...

Also I could direct the foe back 1 and right 1... then back 1 and left 1 putting him in front of me again. Finally in the third move back 1 and L/R 1. Maybe in order to swerve through different obstacles or foes.

The big problem I see is how do I manage these things while moving in a straight line myself ? Or I could go diagonal to accompany the bull rush victim ?

Extra question:
Can I Domino Rush (another benefit of the shock trooper) after a Directed Bull Rush ?

Directed Bull Rush:
Just move your character along with him. You push him one square left, you also go one square left.

Domino Rush:
Both maneuvers have the same triggering action, so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do both. You could bull rush someone diagonally into another enemy's square and then you'd do your Domino thing.

If you've ever played or watched much American football, think of an offensive lineman who runs straight at a linebacker and drive-blocks him out of the hole in one direction or other. That's pretty much a straight-line charge followed by a diagonal. It was a common drill when I played ball in high school.
