Godzilla vs. Bambi?

Salutations,

It seems kind of like a pointless fight to me.

Either Superman squishes him in two seconds or batman whips out some kryptonite and Superman is squished.

A team up would have been more interesting- similar to what was done in the cartoon.

Good idea, not necessarily. Interesting, sure. Pointless, as Sir Osis said. Definitely. Course, I can just foresee that they will end up having to team up anyhow in the movie to fight whatever the big enemy/threat is anyways, if such a thing should come to pass within the film. (As it usually does.)

I take it that you haven't read Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns". That would make a great movie. And its outline is compatible with the description of "Batman vs. Superman" at the site Morrus posted.

"It wasn't easy to synthesise, Clark... took years... and it cost a fortune. Luckily, I had both."

Err.. yes, I have.

How long was that "fight"?

Not very long, from what I recall. The fight with croc was the highlight of the series.

Not really, iirc, the supes from that is not quite the shining example of truth, justice, and the american way.

Granted, I have read the horrid sequel and maybe I am confusing how twisted supes is in that work versus the prequel.

Argh, I must be tired- I could have swore that line was from the sequel, Dark Knight Strikes Again.

I hope the movie is good, but I don't see it happening. Especially considering the past work of the script writer.

I can see it happening but will it be worth seeing. Both characters have a lot of baggage to overcome from the past movies. If they ignore most of what has gone before & start fresh then it could work. Only time will tell...

By the way, the Superman comics is getting rid of the manga-influenced artwork & going for a more realistic look.

Yep. Especially as a film that restarts both franchises.

I'm pretty much willing to declare that it will be inferior to the animated Worlds Finest film, just as the Batfilms have all been inferior to Mask of the Phatasm and the animated series generally.

Plus, the talk of Matt Damon playing Batman shows me that WB havent learnt anything from the debacle that was B&R.
