Disappointing Birthday

Elephant

First Post
Yesterday (the 18th) was my birthday. It was kind of a let-down. I had to get up early, sit in classes for about half the day, and then I stayed at school, working on homework until early evening.

Once I got home, I found my wife fast asleep, and she didn't stir until 8:30...and she had to leave for work at 9 (she normally works days, but she works with people who have disabilities, and one of them is in the hospital, so there's extra work shifts that have to be filled).

On top of that, I don't really have time to have any sort of birthday party or family gathering - school and work keep me super-busy. I shouldn't even be writing this...I should be sleeping right now.

So, yeah, that's my angsty whining for today. I hope the rest of you have better birthdays - and days in general! - than I've had this year.

Edit: To dispel confusion, it was my 26th birthday, and the *date* was the 18th.

Sorry to hear that. Crappy days suck. Crappy birthdays are worse. Try planning another day to celebrate with your wife to make up for it. That, or just get a bunch of friends together and game. I always feel better when I'm gaming. :D

Wow, married at 18. I couldn't imagine that. At 18, my biggest priority in life was operating my BBS and playing Nintendo games.

I think he meant the that the date was the eighteenth. I didn't see anything in the post that referred to it being his eighteenth birthday.

Either way, yep, it sounds like that birthday sucked. I hope the rest of the year is far better.

Yeah, I've had birthdays come and go with no celebration. You ought to take yourself out to a nice dinner.

OK, out of fairness, I thought the original post said "18th birthday" too! :D I think my evil brain sort of transposed a few words or sumtin.

In any event, belated happy returns, Elephant. And rest assured that everyone at some point or another has a disappointing birthday or two...or three...or five. ;)
