Disarm question

A Combat Maneuver can always be traded for a melee attack. All the feat(s) do are give you bonuses to the maneuver or prevent it from provoking attacks of opportunity.

Interesting, is that different form 3.5?

Nope, you could disarm in place of an attack in 3E as well. Systole is wrong, though. Some maneuvers are standard actions, only certain ones can be used in place of an attack (including AoOs). I think this is completely accurate:

In 3E
Replace attack: Trip, Disarm, Grapple. Rules Compendium added Sunder to this list *grumble*
Standard action: Bull Rush*, Over run*, Sunder (pre-RC)
* You can also use these as part of a charge instead of attacking

In PF
Replace attack: Trip, Disarm, Sunder
Standard action: Bull Rush*, Grapple, Over run*
* You can also use these as part of a charge instead of attacking

Not very familiar with the new combat maneuvers PF added. Frankly I think they're overly specific and should have been folded into the existing ones for the most part (Steal --> Disarm, Reposition and Drag --> Bull Rush, Dirty Trick --> Feint, etc...). They mostly seem to be standard action maneuvers, though.

Then what is the point of the break guard feat? Does it give an extra attack?

PFSRD:

"Benefit: While wielding two weapons, whenever you successfully use one weapon to disarm an opponent, you can spend a swift action to attack the opponent you attempted to disarm using your other weapon."

If you manage to disarm your opponent, you get to make an attack as a swift action. The way I read it, if you disarm someone with either attack of your Two-Weapon Fighting, you get a swift attack with the other, even if you fail to disarm with the first one. So, it could give you an extra attack, because if you fail with your first attack using TWF but succeed with your second, you get a swift attack with your 'other' weapon, which would be your first.

Not sure that makes sense. For example. If I have I PR two wpn fighting, I get 2 attacks with each hand. First attack with primary, I successfully disarm. Does that mean I have 1 more primary attacks, 2 offhand attacks, and 1 more additional swift offhand attack?

That's how I read it, yes. You have two attacks with each hand. Personally, I would run it like this:

Primary Hand (PH): Disarm
Off Hand (OH): Swift Attack
Off Hand: First Normal OH Attack
PH 2: Secondary PH Attack
OH 2: Secondary OH Attack

Or, if you miss with your first Disarm attempt and succeed with an OH Disarm attempt:

PH 1: Miss
OH 1: Disarm
PH: Swift Attack
PH2: 2nd PH Attack
OH 2: 2nd OH Attack

It's only one more attack, which can make a huge difference, but I've found it usually doesn't until the opponent is almost out of hit points.
