+1. I once ran a game for 9 PCs. It was intensely hard to run, even though it only had one encounter and a handful of skill checks. I'd think really hard about bringing more than 6 PCs ever again.

Agreed.

Just run with the 4 or 5 characters you think you'd enjoy the most (and make the best balanced party, as Trouvere said). If you try to cater for everybody the whole thing'll just crash and burn. :.-(

You all are right i just didn't want to disappoint anyone but it will probably have to happen.

Makes me feel bad though anyway.

Don't feel bad if I don't have Karl join. I will probably let the folks who have never played get this game, as I have two characters in LEW right now. One of which is on a rescue mission of sorts.

Question:
If my character is in the RDI, and he is to join an adventure thread which begins IN the RDI, do I post 'leaving' the RDI thread and joining the adventure thread? I ask in case there some recordkeeping needing done with it.

ICly my assumption is I just post 'retiring' in the RDI thread and then post waking in the adventure thread.

There's the adventure thread incase my question doesn't make sense without it.

Normally what you'd do is post your actions in the RDI as usual, and then, once you move off, start posting in the adventure thread.

In this case, since HolyMan has described your character having breakfast at the RDI, you might segue with something like: "After a hearty breakfast, Name bids the assembled company farewell and goes off to find the Detirman Trade Company compound."

Alright, thanks. I figured this wasn't the common procedure, and wanted to make sure I didn't screw up some sort of continuity or something.

Another weird question from me.

I'm currently attempting to recruit a friend onto Enworld, and something came up in the discussion I felt I should ask about.

How should romantic elements in LEW be handled? I realize this may be a strange question, but I also don't want to weird anyone out if anything of that nature does occur.

Any guidelines judges or others could give?

I think the warning is helpful LOL don't want to shock anyone. And you would think more of these tough adventures would have a few love interests I mean it is in are nature I think my next character may be married hmmm... and a halfling at that getting away from the little misses.

How should romantic elements in LEW be handled?
A good starting point is the grandmother policy which applies on the boards in general. Historically, this comes from the policy which Eric Noah put in place on his boards. In summary, people were expected to use the sort of language they might use if Eric's grandma was present.

The same thing would apply to romantic involvement during play. Keep it grandma-friendly (bearing in mind, too, that there are no age restrictions on membership of ENWorld, and the object of your virtual affections may, in fact, be 12 years old!)

Romantic interest has been expressed between PCs before now, and that's a reasonable part of the roleplay between characters - just make sure that any intimate details happen off-stage, and in private.
