This is all VERY fascinating... and informative!
Really, the time (reading this thread) has just flown by....

I just am having a hard time getting ahold of it all.
Basically, it's a shared PbP adventure, with solo and group spin-off adventures?
If so, it sounds cool (I have not done Living Greyhawk).
All players start at level 1, right? I didn't catch what the deal was with higher level players/PC's.
Since this is a Living ENWorld game, I have the idea that it would be neat if we made characters that were very close to our own characters as PC's. Something a'la Kitana's In-Character Game, but as fantasy characters, using 3.5E.
It seems somewhat close to this, since you're having moderators create the dieties, etc. - maybe have our PC's take on some of the powers and proclivities of our own selves, as we are members of this gaming "community."
For example, I would make a paladin-like character (not necessarily a paladin), since my personality and posting habits are similar, and it's a strong interest of mine.
This character would be older than the average, and be knowledgable about the local history of the community.
