This looks pretty interesting. I don't know if I have enough time, seeing as how fast the IC thread has been moving. Nevertheless, I already created a character just in case. Gives me the opportunity to hop in whenever I feel like it. Or it's just another inhabitant of Enworld. :)

Wow, this is moving fast. thanks for the chance to contribute, Garyh, I'll get my deity up sometime today, since I only saw your post this morning. I'm looking forward to how this turns out.
And, on a slightly different topic, any news on getting our own forum? I think that if the first few days are any sign that this is going to really take off, and could take up too much space in the IC and OOC forums.

Sign me up for Judge. I am working on my deity as I type this...

I'm going to close the Pantheon for now (just adding MacBeth's deity until further notice), to allow the other Moderators a chance to make their diety and have a breather before we expand that aspect of Living Enworld anymore. Feel free to make suggestions, but I won't be officially accepting any more deities without input from creamsteak.

That's what gary said... I think you might be a little late for making a deity. :(

WhatKu - there are four deities thus far for living enworld, and Arken has made IC references to a fifth, a merchant deity. Though the options are a little slim at the moment, you could possibly choose one of them for your character.

There's a thread here in the OoC forum that details the deities made so far.

Here's my avatar/deity, I think Verdante is fairly self explanatory, but if you need me to clarify or revise, I would be happy too.

Verdante
"ver-dant-eh"
The Greenman, Keeper of the Cycle

Enworldian Lesser Deity
Symbol: A Longspear Covered with ivy
Home Plane: Wilderness of the Beastlands
Alignment: Neutral Good
Portfolio: Natural Cycles, Plants, Animals
Worshipers: Druids, Rangers, those who love nature.
Cleric Alignments: NG,CG,N,LG
Domains: Animal, Earth, Plant
Favored Weapon: "Verdante's Branch" (Spear, short or long)

Verdante is a god of natural life, of the cycles that bring everything alive, a god of falling rain and blowing winds, a god of beautiful flowers and majestic animals. Verdante teaches that everything has a natural cycle: life and death, good times and bad, sickness and health, all of these are part of the cycles of the natural world. This belief leads to some rather strange druids in Verdante's service, druids who believe that cities are a part of the natural cycle of the wilderness, and so make their way in cities, tending public parks and feeding ally cats. Verdante's followers are known for embracing the changes in their lives, believing each change to be the next phase in their natural cycle, and so his followers are found in all walks of life. Verdatne encourages his followers to help others find the beauty in their natural cycle, and to support those who are in a dark part of their cycle. Verdante's followers seek to create a more harmonious world by accepting the changes of natural life, but they will take up arms if those natural cycles are disturbed.
Verdante appears as a roughly human figure composed entirely of plant matter, a man made from nature. His coloration depends on the season of the place where he appears: in summer he is a strong green, in autumn, a regal mixture of gold and brown, winter finds him a collection of branches, not a leaf in sight, and spring brings flowers to his form, making him an explosion of yellows, oranges, and blues, all on a backdrop of green like newly growing grass.

[Edit for clarity, and to justify the NG alignment.]

Hmm... hey Macbeth, it sounds like your deity is more N than NG... may I ask why you made him NG? And not just that, but LG isn't included in the list of available cleric alignments... but wouldn't following the natural order of things be a lawful outlook?

Just some questions. I like the deity. :)

Good questions. I think I may have some answers:
wouldn't following the natural order of things be a lawful outlook?
Its not natural order, its the natural cycle,
giving in to the natural changes of the world. I geuss it is close to the natural order, but the beleif system focuses more on the changes of nature, and going along with those changes.

it sounds like your deity is more N than NG
I'm kind of on the fence about this one. I can see why True Neutral would fit, but I envision the followers as accepting the natural changes, and trying to help others find peace with thc changes. I would see them taking everything in stride, accepting the natural cycle of life, and because they know everybody has good times and bad times they try to ease the pain of the bad. Think of the kind of person who "goes with the flow" and finds peace, serenity, and happiness by accepting that some things are going to happen as part of natural life. I think this fits good alignment well, as they seek to make the world a more harmonious place by accepting the cycles of life, and they will take up arms when that cycle is disrupted.

LG isn't included in the list of available cleric alignments

I just forgot LG from the list of alignments. My bad.

Hope that answers some qeustions. If this still seems like a Neutral or Lawful Neytral outlook, just tell me, and I will change it. I just think that NG fits the "go with the flow, but make sure that flow isn't disrupted" style of deity. I'll edit my prior post to try to make it clearer.

I like the deity
Thanks. I think it turned out rather well as long as you don't worry too much about alignment.

Thrindar
Stringent Keeper of Balance

Enworldian Lesser Deity
Symbol: Varies (as favored weapon)
Home Plane: Prime Material
Alignment: True Neutral (tending toward chaos, law, evil, & good at various times)
Portfolio: ?
Worshippers: Any
Cleric Alignments: CN, LN, N, NE, NG
Domains: Destruction, Healing, Protection, War
Favored Weapon: Varies (Falchion, Great Club, Heavy Flail, Scythe, Unarmed Strike)

Thrindar always appears as a dwarf of immense size. He is a stringent keeper of balance, often seeming to swing in a non-neutral direction in order to keep the balance. He has five forms for the five alignments. In the neutral form he appears as an unarmed dwarf. In the chaotic form he appears as a dwarf weilding a falchion. In the lawful form he appears as a dwarf weilding a great club. In the good form he appears as a dwarf weilding a heavy flail. In the evil form he appears as a dwarf weilding a scythe.

Clerics of Thrindar take on one of five roles as based on their chosen alignment. Neutral clerics have unarmed strike as their favored weapon; use their open palm as their holy symbol; must choose either destruction and healing, or war and protection for their domains. Lawful neutral clerics have the great club as their favored weapon; use their great club as their holy symbol; must take protection and either destruction or healing for their domains. Chaotic neutral clerics have the falchion as their favored weapon; use their falchion as their holy symbol; must take war and either destruction or healing as their domains. Neutral good clerics have the heavy flail as their favored weapon; use their heavy flail as their holy symbol; must take healing and either protection or war as their domains. Neutral evil clerics have the scythe as their favored weapon; use their scythe as their holy symbol; must take destruction and either protection or war as their domains.

This is it for now.

Tail, you might wanna slow down and read. Currently, Deities are only accepted if

a) Garyh approves of one. Right now he's not accepting new entires.

b) You're a Judge. Note that Judge and DM are not the same thing.

Macbeth> I really think making him N would fit the theme better AND gives a better spread of available deities. Other than that, Verdante looks great.
