Thread deleted. Thanks.

I'm still trying to catch up on things, probably won't finish tonight (though I finally got my good pc hooked up... which helps a lot).

Alright, for those judges present, and those players that have been here for a while and are willing to help... I'm looking to "clean house" of all the backed up proposals.

What this entails is going through one thread per day and examining it thoroughly based on it's value both mechanically and non-mechanically. The list is in the archivomatic thread. We will go from top to bottom, one per day. Three judge votes to approve something IN EXACTLY IT'S CURRENT FORM earn a proposal approval unless it get's vetoed. A veto consists of 3 votes against. There are 6 current judges, but I know some are not going to be able to handle 1 thread per day, so I'm willing to add two to three more to the list. If Thomas Hobbes, Gnomeworks, and Kahuna are willing, I'd like their help with this. The only thing I really want to add is that you can't vote for your own proposals. I expect that between this group and the current judges (me, Uriel, Knight Otu, Nimisgod, Pbartender, and Manzanita), we should see some pretty thorough examinations of content. If something is vetoed, then it needs to be reproposed. I may be willing to give an edited draft to a thread before it's day comes up if I feel like something is very close to finished, but needs specific changes.

The process will be pretty simple, starting tonight around midnight (central), I'll post in the archivomatic thread what's next. I'll examine the thread an hour or so before, and if I think it's tight but that it needs some specific changes, I'll also list the "revised proposal" at the end of the thread. I'm not always going to do that though, both because I don't want to change someone elses work, and because I don't want to have to put a grievous amount of revision onto something. Judges can also make minor proposed changes similarly, but I'd hope to see these early rather than late.

Once the thread is active, I'll wait 24 hours before going on to the next subject. The goal will be to go through the entire proposed list and seperate that which needs work from that which should become cannon for the setting. Simpe enough, eh? I hope this works this time.

I'm currently a shiftless college student in that span of time between the end of school and the beginning of anything else. This, combined with a raging case of insomnia, means that I'm ready, willing, and able to lend a hand. Not quite sure what you want of me, though.

(Also, if you sent me an e-mail, I haven't gotten it yet.)

I'm just looking for active participants that want to help with the process of knocking out a few dozen proposals. All that you need to do is help me out by reading one per day, and telling me if any changes need to be made. I imagine that between 8 or 9 of us, we can get through the whole gamut fairly quickly this one time, and I know you've been active the past week enough that I figure you'd be available for this purpose. Thanks for the help.

Still working on that email.

Oh damn! :p OK, that was a given, anyway, sure I expect a fair amount of free tme in the coming week or so, so I can definitly do this. I'd just like to add the additional recomandation that a judge who has found time to look over a proposal but finds him or herself neutral on it should post an abstension vote. This would help us judge when a proposal had been given sufficient attention but remained unaproved as opposed to it being an off day.

I'd also suggest that we work out a broad yeah or nay on la+ races and new core classes first (and possibly that if those are approved as an acceptable catagory of additions, those who hate all of them abstain on specific proposals.) We can put those off for last and deal with feats, spells, PrCs, dieties etc first while we try to get a broad consensous on the issues that have attracted more discussion of the overall idea than individual proposals.

If that is OK, I can post a couple of polls to gauge broad support or lack there of and open some discussion on methodology. I just think it would be better to settle the larger issue first rather than refighting it on each specific proposal.

New core classes received a pretty clear no over at the archivomatic thread, so they are out for now. I think many judges are in favor of allowing LA races if we find a way to incorporate them in a way that does not upset game balance and continuity. The "lesser version" variant I linked to earlier in this thread pretty much takes away continuity, but the negative level adjustment variant could work.

One problem with the solutions for high-ECL races is, none of them is OGC, and we want pretty much everything to be OGC. They are, however, easily accessible on the WotC website.

OK, I just posted a long response to this which my computer then ate, so I'll go significantly shorter here and expand later.

Wrong. ;)

OK, maybe a little longer. While particular applications of lesser races or racial levels, or the exact text of one guy's negitive level suggestion may be closed content, none of those ideas are (IMHO, IANAL) worthy of being considered closed content themselves. Negitive levels are OGL, this is just a suggested use for them. Various OGL sources use racial levels, and stretching out existing LA races into progressions is nothing radical. Making a "wimp" version of a higher powered race (perhaps as a half something or other) is just good sense. As long as we are coming up with the exact progressions or wimp versions ourselves rather than cutting and pasting specific applications of these ideas, I see nothing to worry about.

I haven't been here all that long, but if you want a hand, I can help. I understand if you want to keep it to the judges and players who have been here forever, I don't want to step on other peoples toes:) . Just offering to help if you want it;) .

I've posted a poll regarding LA+ races and possible options for them. Obviously the judges don't have to consider it binding, but I thought broad input would be useful.
