I've thought about it, and I might even do so. Not really sure yet.

What are the duties again?
-Monitor adventure and tavern threads to make sure that the rules are followed (and determine awards?).
-Help PCs that are caught in a dead adventure.
-Approve or disapprove proposed contents.

Anything else?

Alright, Orsal and Kahuna Burger's replies to my last post have convinced me that I should give LEW another chance. But that means you're all going to have to suffer through me making more suggestions about how to improve this place. First of all, the rules and regulations of LEW are so scattered and incoherent that a lot of them might as well not be there. For example, I was just considering the idea of running an adventure. In the FAQ, it says you should submit your idea to a judge for approval. How do you do that? Who are the judges? Can I submit it to a judge of my choice, or do they all have to see it?

I think the FAQ should include a list of links to other threads with pertinent information, some of which may have to be created. Off the top of my head, there should be a list of available races, PrCs, gods, and any other special rules. Each item in the lists that isn't from the SRD should be a link to the thread about that item.

There needs to be specific rules about submissions, for both new content and new adventures. From seeing other people's discussions, it sounds like these already exist, but I have no idea where. And they require 50% of the judge's approval? How many judges are there? Who are they? What are the rules for adding new judges or removing ones that are never around? That info should also be in the faq. Unless we can count on a judge to show up here at least every few days and check on any proposals, what's the point of having them?

OK, I'm done ranting for now. I'm there's some things I forgot or missed, but I think you get the idea. Pbartender, if you get all this info up on a website it would be great, but collating it all is not a task I'd want to attempt.

Kahuna Burger, what I meant by the statement about standing adventures was that there should be enough dms that sometimes they're actually waiting for players. Did you mean having a sort of continuous adventure that people could go join and leave at will? It's an interesting idea, and it wouldn't be too hard to set up. But there's still a problem with logistics. I'm not sure how you would deal with it if 20 people all try to go at once. Which comes back to the problem of people having multiple characters. I still think that should be changed, but I'm not sure how when the multiples are already running around.

Try and keep things somewhat organized, including updating FAQs and answering any questions about "wheres blah" when it's necessary. Theres probably others, but that's a big one for me that I havn't been able to do recently (during the last couple weeks of school).

That's the big one I want to do, but every time I get started things get turned around on me. We even have a thread with 95% of the proposals, that didn't get used for nearly anything by the judges.

I think my post included the most important non-updated stuff. It is mostly the Domains and Spells that were not updated, and two feats. The rest seems to be updated. But I'm not a judge, so I'll leave those decisions to you. :)

I would warn the other Judges about the domains there, though. Some of them are of equivalent power to Prestige Domains or are Prestige Domains themselves, presented as normal domains. Gawd knows that clerics are powerful enough as it is....

Kangaxx, we've been working on organizing things for a long time, but I can't seem to get much help actually doing things for that. There is a thread with all approved and unapproved proposals up to it's date, but the judges never got down to working with me on examining each proposal one by one. After that, I was goign to move all official information either onto a website or into a sub-forum (or both, if I could), but none of that has come together for me.

The current FAQ is extremely outdated and needs work, but I havn't had any success re-writing it.

I'd be willing to lend a hand, but it's hard to when I don't actually know where any of that information is.

In regards to the submissions, I think the only feasible way to catch up is to start over. Make a thread where the only posts people make are links to their new submissions, and any older stuff that people are still pushing for should be linked to from there. But even that needs to wait until there's definitive guidelines for how they'll be approved. Given the almost complete lack of judge activity I've seen around here, the old guidelines need to be replaced. Either the list of judges needs to be rewritten, or Kahuna Burger's suggestion of player approval should be implemented. I have qualms about that idea though, because most players probably don't check the front page often.

Nimisgod: Yes, that's part of the problem. I hope Andy Smith updates that file as soon as possible.

Creamsteak, I'll lend my hand as a judge. With the recent shortage on judges, I hope I can help. :)

Hey guys,

Damn, it sucks that you guys either don't work or have jobs were you can respond all day, I feel left out.

A couple of things, first, this is my first PBP experience so I am a bit at odds with things, but once I get through my first adventure as a player, to get a feel for things, I can help even out the whole DM/player thing, if you would like that is.

Second, I understand that hirlings can be trouble, but that is just what I came up with as I was waiting for nimisgod to respond. I did e-mail you, perhaps I will try again then if something went wrong, other wise my characters are on the other forum, towards the end. I will email you again though. perhaps I had an old e-mail address, what address should I use?

Regardless, I don't really care so much about hirlings, I would rather do the job myself. That character is fun to roll play but lacking in a lot of other areas. Yes, that is what going on an adventure with a lot of player is about, gaining strength through numbers, but no one will want to tote around the charismatic player with low and ineffective ability score for combat. I guess I could be wrong, but that has been my experience in pen and paper play. Creamsteak, I will drop my NPC, mainly because I have to, lol, and go to the Red Dragon Inn and see if I can hire a PC player for the role, as you suggested. I am not trying to cause conflict here with that character, just thought it would be a fun change of pace, something different.

Third, I am sure that there may be players waiting around somewhere, but I posted in the Inn last week and I just saw my first player in there on Monday, maybe Sunday. At any rate, I would like to play in the Psionic game as I stated earlier, mainly because I love that class and because I haven't had a chance to play yet. However, I just really want to play, so whatever is good for me.

nimisgod I emailed you at this address nimisgod@hotmail.com , if that is not correct, please tell me where to writie you.

Creasteak, I saw that you created a new Red Dragon Inn, I tried to email you too, but it says you are blocked or something to that effect. I have expressed interest in the Psionic game and I thought perhaps you were starting the new Inn to recruit for it there. I would really like to play in that game if you don't mind. I am going to create a character for it now, unless you have objections.

Thanks guys.
