Hey, so I posted that the learner is done and waiting for a Judge to come on over and comment... seems that that post got lost in all the sudden hub-bub.

Anybody care to look and comment? ;)

Last time I looked at it was a LONG time ago... :o

I'll try to take a peek this morning.

Did we ever decide what items are available for purchase in Orussus?

Magic Items?
Special Materials (like darkwood, mithral and adamantine)?

There was a decision as far as I remember. Must have been in one of the older discussion threads.

Edit: I found it, (Discussion) General Part II, last page:

The GP limit in Orussus is 20,000 gold pieces. This is pretty high, and mostly because of the Red Dragon Inn, which fuels the magic item community around there. Any items up to 20,000 gold pieces in value can be purchased with a smaller amount of time invested.

It's funny... I post a rant about how there's no adventures, one promptly shows up, and it's completely unsuitable for my character. Oh well, hopefully the other adventures mentioned here will also be starting soon.

Creamsteak, I'd be willing to help, but I don't know what you want help with other than making those lists that I mentioned, and I don't know where to find the material that would go on them.

TheNovak: Your character Rogar Flowstone has Grendath as his Deity, and picked War as one of his Domains.
That gives him proficiency and Weapon Specialization with the Longsword, which you don't have listed in your character sheet.
trying to help (and he's My Deity contribution, so I have a special place in my Heart for his Clerics).

Well, I'm about to post another vingette (don't know why, just kinda feel like it, and I've got some time off coming up) which might be more to your character's liking in terms of rewards... but unsuitable in other ways. :p Its actually the opening section of a longer adventure that was approved months ago but didn't get any interest, so hopefully no one will take offense if I don't resubmit it...

This is mainly for Creamsteak, but in put from others would be nice as well.

Okay, there has been a lot of talk lately about a Psionic game that Creasteak is putting together and a lot of people want in, including me. But with the 3.5 updates to Psionics comes some changes, one of them is race.

The 3.5 psionic update lists many new races, here is one as an example:

Code:
DROMITES
[/size][size=2]• +2 Charisma, –2 Strength, –2 Wisdom

• Monstrous Humanoid: Dromites are not subject to spells or effects that affect humanoids only, such as [i]charm person [/i]or [i]dominate person[/i].

• Small: As a Small creature, a dromite gains a +1 size bonus to Armor Class, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, and a +4 size bonus on Hide checks, but it uses smaller weapons than humans use, and its lifting and carrying limits are three-quarters of those of a Medium character.

• Dromite base land speed is 20 feet.

• Chitin: A dromite’s skin is hardened, almost like an exoskeleton, and grants the character a +3 natural armor bonus to AC and one of the following kinds of resistance to energy: cold 5, electricity 5, fire 5, or sonic 5. The player chooses what type of energy resistance is gained when the character is created. (This choice also dictates which caste the dromite belongs to.) This natural energy resistance stacks with any future energy resistance gained through other effects.

• Naturally Psionic: Dromites gain 1 bonus power point at 1st level. This benefit does not grant them the ability to manifest powers unless they gain that ability through another source, such as levels in a psionic class.

• Psi-Like Ability: 1/day—[i]energy ray. [/i]A dromite always deals the kind of energy damage that its chitin has resistance to (for example, a dromite who has resistance to cold 5 deals cold damage with its [i]energy ray[/i]). Manifester level is equal to 1/2 Hit Dice (minimum 1st). The save DC is Charisma-based.

• Scent: Its antennae give a dromite the scent ability. A dromite can detect opponents by scent within 30 feet. If the opponent is upwind, the range increases to 60 feet; if downwind, it drops to 15 feet. Strong scents, such as smoke or rotting garbage, can be detected at twice the ranges noted above. Overpowering scents, such as skunk musk or troglodyte stench, can be detected at triple normal range. When a dromite detects a scent, the exact location of the source is not re vealed—only its presence somewhere within range. The dromite can take a move action to note the direction of the scent. Whenever the dromite comes within 5 feet of the source, the dromite pinpoints the source’s location.

• Blind-Fight: Its antennae also give a dromite Blind-Fight as a bonus feat.

• Compound Eyes: This feature of its anatomy gives a dromite a +2 racial bonus on Spot checks.

• Automatic Languages: Common. Bonus Languages: Dwarven, Gnome, Goblin, Terran.

• Favored Class: Wilder.

• Level Adjustment: +1.[/size]

So, with new races comes level adjustments. I know that you guys don't want to get into that, but I have a proposal, what if we could use level adjusted races, pre approved ones that the Judges and DMs agreed on, and then for each + in the adjustment, you had to gain an additional 1000xp on top of what you normally would need.

As an alternative, how about some new races created by the DMs and judges. I like this one because it gives a CHR bonus, I could care less about the rest, so if there was an elf variant that gave a CHR bonus I would take that instead.

Is it okay to start a post to create a new race for DM approval later?

Am I out of line here in suggesting this or is it cool?;)

What do you guys think?:)

How about something like this as an example:

Code:
Star Elf racial traits
*-2 Constitution, +2 Intelligence, + 2 Charisma: Star elves are frail but years
of political problem solving have made them more endearing and intelligent.

*Medium: as medium creatures, elves have no special bonuses or penaltie
due to their size.

*Elf base land speed is 30 feet

*Immunity to magic sleep effects and a +2 racial saving throw bonus against
enchantment spells or effects.

*Low light vision: An elf can see twice as far as a human in starlight,
Moonlight and similar conditions of poor illumination. He retains the ability to
distinguish color and details under these conditions.

*Weapon Proficiency: Star Elves do not get the martial bonus feats that their
cousins get. Star Elves are diplomats to other races and have no need in
special training. Instead, they are naturally Psionic.

*Naturally Psionic: Star Elves gain 2 bonus power points at 1st level. This
benefit does not grant them the ability to manifest powers unless they gain
that ability through another source, such as levels in a psionic class.

*Star Elves get a +2 racial check on diplomacy, Intimidate and bluff as they
are excellent judges of peoples character. Star Elves reduce the penalty for
quick diplomacy reactions (page 72 PHB 3.5) by 1 for every rank they have in
Diplomacy as long as they have a power point reserve of 1. Star Elves are
not accustomed to living in the wilds and have lost their racial bonus to
listen, search and spot checks, including the ability to check for secret doors
by walking past them.

*Automatic Languages: Common and Elven and one other bonus language of
that characters choice. A Star Elf may choose from any of the known
languages as a bonus language for race and a high Intelligence. A Star Elf
knows many different races and has mstered the art of learning new
Languages, a Star Elf can learn a new language for only 1 skill point instead of
the normal two.

*favored class: Psion (Telepath). A multiclass elf's Psion (telepathy) does not
count when determining whether she takes an experience point penalty for
multiclassing (see XP for Multiclass Characters, page 60).

The race is one from my campaign that I run, in Pen and Paper.

It is updated from what I had before. When I created it they didn't have the Psionic hand book out so he got the +1 to quick diplomacy for each rank he had in Diplomacy regardless of whether he had a Psionic point reserve, he got the skill bonus for Spot, search and listen in addition to the other skill bonuses and the favored class was Bard. They still didn't get the martial feats for weapons and that balanced them out.

I think with Creamsteak soon to be allowing Psionics in this world and judging by the classes and races that I saw in there (in the Psionic handbook update), that this is a fair race.

Of course I don't want to disturb what you guys have going on, I put this in as an example of a new race, something to change things up a bit and maybe a way around some of the races that others would like to play that have level adjustments.

I can share more if the DMs and Judges are interested.

Anyway, no hard feeling if you guys say no new races :p , it was only an idea:) .
