crueldespot said:4) Another Newbie Opinion: Since you are getting overwhelmed with proposals, I suggest that you place a ban on any rules-oriented proposals (Feats, PrCs, etc) and instead consider only those proposals that deal with actual in-game contest (Deities, cities, organizations, etc).
Kahuna Burger said:I have to disagree, on two levels. One, I work under the assumption that the Red Dragon brings in a huge amount of Orurrus's income, and it has by default become an "adventurer's town."

Kahuna Burger said:My other objection pretty much comes down to two words: Evil Characters. If we are going to talk about who should be let into town and sharing drinks in the Red Dragon, I'm more interested in discussing that evil cleric off to the paladin's left before worrying about if we have to hew to the the most narrow interpretations of fantasy stereotypes (and "mostly" or "usually" allignments).
Kahuna Burger said:Btw, there's an evil cleric of an evil diety potentially coming on my vingette and showing up for a job at the temple of Hyrag. Should I exclude the player from my adventure, somehow pretend this would be ok, or let in game reality takes its course? I do not forsee this kind of problem with well mannered members of the so-called savage races.[/QOUTE]
Let in-game reality take its course. If you think the employers are not going to accept a cleric of a deity who doesn't get along with Hyrag, it makes sense to turn the character away. Of course, if I were playing a character serving a deity who didn't get along with Hyrag, I'd be unlikely to join such a mission, unless my character had ulterior motives.

Do paladins have to play nice with evil characters? I see great role-play potential here...
In case this isn't clear... I do agree with the general thrust of your post. Also, we've already had three goblins come to the Red Dragon and join adventures there -- two SRD goblins and one of a tailor-made subrace; the mountain goblins are not usually evil, but they do look to most people just like the more familiar goblins, so any racially based admissions policy would exclude them too. It is therefore a little late to change the policy.

The Goblin King said:If this was Sigil I wouldn't even blink at seeing orcs and goblins. But this is supposedly a human dominated city in the middle of human lands. I reckon Rivenblight has the same problem with Drow but the people there can at least say, "Hey, we are all Elves here. Let try to get along." Maby Orussus needs an active patron god/ruler/demon to keep everyone in line like the Lady of Pain. It doesn't have to be exactly like that. There are a lot of examples in Exalted of cities ruled by powerful spirits. Anyway, just my thoughts on the subject.

Creamsteak said:The GP limit in Orussus is 20,000 gold pieces. This is pretty high, and mostly because of the Red Dragon Inn, which fuels the magic item community around there. Any items up to 20,000 gold pieces in value can be purchased with a smaller amount of time invested.
Knight Otu said:For those who wonder: I deliberately only post to the proposals of the day, to avoid cluttering the board with proposals again. I would love to answer to all of them.
(Creamsteak, maybe we could try again to get a few subforums?)
