Anybody got any idea where I should be posting my craft check results and such? I plan on having Troi craft some additional weaponry before heading out, and I'm not certain where to put the post. I'd put it in Bront's IC thread, but I don't think it belongs there... and I'm not certain if I should be cluttering up the Tavern thread with a craft post.

My next thought was, perhaps, here? But this isn't really the place for IC info.

Any thoughts?

Alright then. :)

What I'll do is roll the die, then edit the post to include my bonuses and whatnot.

The DC I need to hit is 18, for an exotic thrown weapon. I have a +5 for Craft (Weaponsmithing).

[dice=1]20[/dice]

Hmm... that didn't work at all. How do I get dice out here?

Can't you take a ten on a craft check? Obviously in this case it doesn't help, but in other cases it might.

Dumb question that just came up. Can wands be recharged? Or are they fire and forget?

According to the SRD, a wand that's all spent is just a stick. On my reading, it's dead as far as magic is concerned. However, I don't think the SRD (or the core books?) are specific about what is involved in crafting a wand. Does it have to be physically built as it is imbued with magic, or can a preexisting stick be made into a magic wand? I'd be inclined to think the former, but I can see how there's room for interpretation.

I think this much is clear: a spent wand has no more potential for being recharged as a wand than any other stick has for being made into a wand. (I can't think of any other way to read "just a stick".) So it might as well not be rechargeable -- since ordinary mundane sticks aren't hard to come by, possession of such a stick that was once a wand doesn't take you any closer to having a functioning wand.
