The parrying dagger has the defensive property, which gives an untyped +1 bonus to AC (was this eratta'd?). The Rythm enhancement increases the shield bonus to AC and Reflex by 1 when wielding it in your off hand. But you DO need to take weapon proficiency (feat) for parrying dagger as it is a superior weapon.
Only if you want further specialize in hide and increase your dex bonus every level. If you don't, your AC will fall behind as you level.
Did you take Combat Agility or Combat Superiority? If the later, you will have no real advantage from a high dex, but easier access to feats. (And you should take the feat that let's you use Dex instead of Wis for Combat Superiority.)
Bards are so easy compared to the Fighter stuff![]()

Okay, then I'll stick with chainmail. It looks like it can become pretty good at later levels?
...
Chain gives +6 as +1 level item. Hide gives 3.
Chain gives +9 as +4 level item. Hide gives 4.
Chain gives +12 as +6 level item. Hide gives 5.
Your character also qualifies easily for Armor Specialization (Chainmail) (PH1) at paragon level.
Found the feat I suggested, BTW: Agile Superiority in Dragon 378. It effectively a +3 to hit with your opportunity attacks with your current built.
If you don't want to spent a feat for it , I highly suggest Combat Agility from Martial Power 2.
Take Light Blade Expertise (HotFK) instead of Weapon Expertise (light blade). The bonus increases earlier and you gain a damage bonus if you have CA.
Midnight Blade Student (MP2) gives +2 feat bonus to acrobatics and your dual strike attack is vs Reflex instead of AC, if you want![]()
If it wasn't already so late, I'd get Manous advanced to the proper level. *Sigh* Alas, I fear it is not to be at the moment. Maybe I can get it done before this first fight is over?
@ rhun - It's completely up to you if you think the parrying dagger is worth it. For a feat you can exchange the +3 to hit of a regular dagger for the +2 to hit and +1 to AC with the parrying dagger. That's basically all it is, using a feat to exchange +1 to hit for +1 to AC.
@ scotley - especially 10 good guys on large sized horses
I would definitely want Thayoon to be able to speak. If I needed to shout a warning to an ally that was more than 5 squares away, it would be nice to be able to. In so far as how he's going to accomplish this, I'm thinking either of a third glowing point appearing inside the crystal of his face at mouth level. A sort of (--v^V^v--) type crack, like a flaw inside a gem, catching the light at just the right angle, or just having his eyes pulse in time with each syllable he speaks. (maybe both)
I take it that Reflex is generally lower than AC, right?
It's generally good to have some variety to your attacks. I picked powers for my swordmage so he can attack more than just AC. You never know who the opponent will be.
