Divine Challange damage

Does the target suffer damage only once when not attacking the paladin?

Or only once per turn?

Example:

Paladin Foo divine challenges Kobold Bar. Bar attacks the wizard, suffering damage from the challenge. Next round, still marked, Bar attacks the wizard again. Does he suffer damage again?

Thanks

Yes. As long as the target is marked, the first attack it makes after your turn ends that does not include you causes it to suffer damage. That means as long as you keep the target marked it can be burned by that radiant damage once per round.

Ok, can i use an area of effect to set up divine challenge?
my thinking is the dragonborns breathweapon, could it mark several people at once?

No. Divine challenge takes a minor action, usable once per turn to mark one creature.

Like malraux says. You could, however, do this as a dragonborn fighter and mark a bunch of targets with Combat Challenge. Divine Challenge isn't tied to attack rolls, though.
