Divine Leveling

Actually I died recently =/ Cost me 50k to get a true rez.. sigh.. luckily the party had enough money to help as I didn't have it. Apparently, while I am immortal, that is to everything but actually being killed. I can't die of old age, I don't need to breath, and I don't need to eat/drink. I can still be "slain".

As for performing miracles, I'm a spell caster. In the world of AD&D, many people have seen spell casters. As far as I have seen, at Rank 0, I don't get any Salient Divine Abilities, or anything else that people would consider a miracle, as sorcerers aren't uncommon in the world of AD&D. My character is NE, and the Domain I was told I would be given (he didn't allow me to choose that one) was Darkness, which kinda blows, as it seems to be more for the melee types, but hey, why argue with something that has made me so powerful so quickly.

As for what I am a Demi-God of.. I would assume, that would be to be determined.. That will probably be based on my actions as a Demi-God.. I have the ability, I just haven't quite claimed my stakes.

Unfortunately, I also drew cards from the deck of many things that gave me some nasty creatures who'm aren't too friendly with me. One of which is a Pit Fiend, which isn't so much of a concern to me.. the second however is a green angel type, of what I'm not sure, but she carried a very large sword and wanted my blood.. and those angel types will do anything to destroy evil... Thank God I at least have some good SR from this =P

Sounds like a planetar.

Trouble with a capitol troub. Basically take a pit fiend but tone down the melee focus some and trade it for the ability to cast spells like a 17th level cleric.

Which would include, say, Gate. And you can be certain that it's on good terms with other members of the celestial host. Members who can themselves cast Gate, for instance.

You've got problems, my friend.

Sounds like I'll need to use a dimensional anchor on her...
Think bigger. A lot bigger. The gate isn't for her to escape. It's to bring in her friends.

Her Solar friends.

And their Solar friends.

And their friends' Solar friends.

Like I said - you've got trouble. Right here in River City. Trouble with a capitol T and that rhymes with P and that stands for pool... er... planetar.

Dimensional Anchor would prevent her from leaving, and prevent her from contacting her friends for help... As far as I'm aware, she'd be unable to send an calls for help out to her planar buddies... The other option of course is Dimensional Lock... But I'm pretty sure Dimensional Anchor would prevent her from escaping and prevent her from contacting her needed help... Cause you better believe my character doesn't take lightly to threats =P

The issue isn't her leaving. She's not going anywhere. It's an issue of her opening a Gate and calling something in thru it to assist in the taking appart of you.

Dim.Anchor would indeed stop her from leaving, but that isn't what she's going after. Dim.Lock may indeed be a better bet. Or you counterspelling like your life depended on it.

*sigh*

Why am I not getting any comments on my "LA for epic characters thread?" I raised the point of giving DvR 0 to a (21st-22nd level) character there, and my guesstimate there is that a DvR 0 is worth about LA+3. So, for starters, your character is now ECL 18, and should earn considerably less XP than the rest of the party.

BTW, having a wish grant DvR is a dangerous precedent. Don't expect to be able to pull similar feints once your DM realizes what he's done. The level of character improvement a wish should be able to grant is a couple of bonus skill ranks, or a bonus feat. Not deific power.

Having said that, the first order of your divine existance should be to find a (reasonably friendly) deity of higher rank and ask to be in his service. If you don't do this, your life expectancy is that of a moth, because all evil (and many neutral) deities will want to kill you and take your stuff, i.e. your divine power..
