Divine power and ghaeles

hong

WotC's bitch
A ghaele has 10 HD, but casts spells as a 14th level cleric.

Divine power sets your BAB equal to your character level.

Does that mean if a ghaele casts divine power, its BAB is not affected, ie it only gets the +6 Str and temp hit points?

Well, as the Ghaele has a caster level of 14, I would of had that as the "character level", and therefore BAB would have been adjusted to +14, IMC.

I'd treat the higher of the HD or CR as the character level.

As Darklone and AGGEMAM already said - Why?

Character level is racial hit dice plus class levels. For a ghaele without class levels that's 10. Caster level is irrelevant for Hong's question since Divine Power specifically refers to character level, not caster or class level.

YeP: Ghaele's usually shoudn't bother casting divine power. Kinda makes one wonder why they bother making it a standard memorization.
cause ghaeles are all about divine power..the name fits :D they dont care if its not useful.

OR maybe they are like anime characters and scream out the name of their special ability and they just like to holler "DIVINE POWER" as they charge?

Well, the +6 to Str is always useful; and if you only have 65 hit points to start with, any extra hp is good.

IMC ghaeles could get Tenser's transformation!!! But I'm probably never going to use that. Too many nice spells to give up.
